Let me preface my review with a comment – I understand this is an older property, but it is not only showing its age, it’s also showing a lack of proper maintenance and care from the company that owns it. Now to our review.
We arrived the afternoon of August 13th. The first thing we noticed was the lack of parking at the property. When we went to check in we were given a “pass” that would permit us to park across the street (good luck finding a spot). We paid for an ocean view room, and went up to the sixth floor and walked in to a room temperature of 79 degrees (see photo). The “air conditioner” is one of those old units one finds in a window, and to say it didn’t work very well is an understatement. I noticed under the unit, there was a lot of corrosion, damage and mold (see photo). During our two night stay, the coldest we could get the room was 75 degrees. We also noticed the carpeting was pretty old and dirty (see photo), and after showering that night, after 5 minutes my wife’s feet were dirty from the carpet (see photo). The toilet was loose and one would have to exercise caution when sitting on it because it rocked back and forth even with the slightest movement. The elevators were dirty the whole time we were there. Many of these issues could be fixed for not a lot of money, unfortunately, it looks like the company that owns this hotel really doesn’t care as long as people keep coming. I will say this – the view was amazing, too bad the hotel wasn't.
