Getting a little old...
Have been here before - just getting long in the tooth. Some lights didn't work, spots on the carpet, etc. It didn't smell, the bed was and the lobby is nice including a lounge. I wouldn't be afraid of staying there or anything, just saying for the price for one night, which is higher than other nearby places, it isn't new/posh.

Worn and somewhat outdated.
Worn and somewhat outdated. The entire hotel could use a renovation, including the rooms. Fortunately, everything was clean, so at least it wasn’t dirty. The pictures of the room were very different from the room we actually got. It was a bad start to the stay when the room (Grand Suite) only had a double bed, even though we had booked for four people. They explained that they could bring in extra beds, which was an acceptable solution, but it turned out that one of the beds was assembled upside down, making the first night very uncomfortable until we figured it out. Additionally, the heating/cooling system was unstable. The first day, it only provided cold air, but after some service staff made adjustments, warm air finally started coming through. However, on the last night, the system locked, and we were unable to turn off the heating, which ran at full power all night. Friendly staff, except for the clearly dissatisfied employee who delivered the extra beds. Great location.

More of a nice motel than hotel. Very outdated furnishing and design. In comparison to other hotels in this class, the Staff is not well trained: basic welcome smile, desire to help, words like thank you and please. Very basic stuff lacking. Room: water temperature and pressure is unstable, ac very noisy. Windows show a mezzanine that’s completely dirty and abandoned.

Precisamos conviver com um barulho intenso próxino à cama (na parede perto da janela). Desligamos a calefação, mas não resolveu. A Impressão é de ser um encanamento ou algum processo hidráulico do prédio. Quarto 521. No mais, tudo excelente.

Large room, could use some maintenance
Overall it was a good stay and great for the price. The room was incredibly spacious for Manhattan. There was lots of wear and tear in the room- scratches and stains and scuff marks- it was clean but felt a bit old and run down. The bed was fine for one night but was pretty uncomfortable. I was really surprised that there was no free coffee! I can’t remember the last time I stayed somewhere that didn’t have coffee in the room, and the coffee downstairs was $6 for a small paper cup with no free or discounted refills.

Needs an update
The rooms need to be updated. The furniture is outdated. No shower. Only a tub that was three feet high that you had to climb over. The room was too hot and uncomfortable. The food was just okay. No coffee in rooms. I had a junior suite. The room was large for NYX

A hidden gem in a sea of hard rocks.
From the moment I checked in the staff was helpful and friendly. My room was super clean, spacious and very well equipped with amenities. The bed was super comfortable and a request for non allergenic pillows was quickly fulfilled. All in all a great stay. I’ll definitely be back.

Great Anniversary Hotel
The service at this hotel was outstanding and ranks among one of the best I've ever stayed at. We told them we were staying there for our anniversary and they surprised us with champagne in the room. They cleaned the room regularly and even turned down our sheets and left chocolates on the pillow. The concierge was very helpful in providing recommendations and helping with ordering flowers. The Doorman greeted us every time and offered to call a can and suggested nearby restaurants. The bellhop was also very helpful in holding our bags for us. The room was clean and well maintained. We had a great time.

European flair hotel and great location
I've stayed at the Michaelangelo on many occasions over the past 15 years. All the staff are great. The front desk staff are always welcoming and efficient, the bellmen are friendly and efficient, especially Henry who said he has worked there 37 years; and the wait staff at breakfast were attentive and efficient. Highly recommend this hotel.
