Our room was very clean. It's an older hotel so a bit shabby in places. Scuff marks on the walls for example. Also the beds are very hard, but I was told this is typical in that area. The front desk crew is very friendly, helpful and informative, they always greeted us with big smiles.
Breakfast is “ western style”, quiches were delicious, coffee was great . Breakfast is made to order, so the wait is a bit long.
We had the family style room, the toilet room is separated from shower room, I felt the toilet is very cramped .
For bedding, besides regular pillows, they even offered neck comfort pillow , which surprised me.They should have neck pillows for sale on site.
15th floor is public area for who stay there, gym is clean, self-laundry area is clean.
For transportation, we relied on Uber, Halo House is at the corner, easy to find a pickup spot. But it’s a bit far from subway or mainline bus, however the overall environment is peaceful and quiet.
Halo House is just across from Maple park , and around the corner from Taichung Theater , which I loved to have morning walks .

The surrounding area has convenience stores but there is a need to ride a cab to major attractions or train station."

The breakfast buffet was extraordinary. The selection was huge and the foods were tasty. Just don't go there during public holidays as it will be very crowded, like what we had experienced. We were there during the May Dragon Boat Festival. We were given a table at breakfast, then we all got up to get foods. When we return to our designated table, there were other people sitting at our table. The staff was very apologetic and got us a different table quickly, so all is well.
