You get what you pay for!
This is not a hotel or guest house by any standard. This is an old hospital/medical facility that has been converted into bedrooms. Upon arrival, no one was present. We called the number on the door and some guy answered the phone, but when he let us in he basically said "I don't work here, my friend does!" and then left. 20 minutes later, a man comes in seemingly frustrated and quickly takes my ID and hands me a room key. We get up to the room and it's absurdly hot in there, with only 1 tiny window to open (no screen) to get some fresh air in. As I said already, it is literally an old doctors office or medical facility of some sort, as our "guest room" still had some doctor's name on the nameplate outside. That said, the room was clean and the beds were clean, but the shared shower was... well, not so nice. To be fair, you get what you pay for, and at $60/night I certainly wasn't expecting the Ritz Carlton, but I certainly wasn't expecting what we got. We really only needed a place to crash after a concert, so it did the trick, but it was certainly no "privilege" to stay there and I wouldn't return.

Bien placé, gare, centre ville. Une petite clinique reconvertie en hôtel, avec quelques résidents plus stables. Ne pas attendre de service classique avec quelqu'un à votre écoute. Accueil par un gardien qui m'attendait à l'heure que j'avais précisée, qui parle portugais. Pass digital pour entrer. J'ai restitué les clefs dans une boite prévue à cet effet. Il y a une salle commune au rez-de-chaussée. Mais j'ai respecté la différence entre résidents et simple touristes. Une fois compris l'originalité de la formule j'ai surtout apprécié la localisation. Et pas d'incompréhension ou sentiment d'insécurité déplacé. "je suis en chambre d'hôpital, en parfaite santé, en cure touristique" La chambre est basique mais spacieuse. Ce qui n'est pas toujours le cas dans les hôtels de base en belgique. C'est propre, couloirs, sol. Si vous bredouillez un peu le protugais vous pourrez sans doute apprécier davantage.
