London and related destinations
Forget the double-decker bus tours – the real London reveals itself when ducking into centuries-old pubs where Shakespeare might have scribbled sonnets over ale. The British Museum houses treasures from every civilization, all available without spending a penny. Witness the ancient ceremony of the keys at the Tower of London, then compare crown jewels to the sparkling skyline from the London Eye's glass pods. Theater-lovers can score half-price West End tickets at Leicester Square's TKTS booth. Trafalgar Square's pigeons have been banished, but the people-watching remains superb. For a perfect afternoon, grab picnic supplies at Borough Market before sprawling on the grass in Hyde Park, watching locals pretend the fleeting sunshine is perfectly normal.

Bob W London Hyde Park
"Was in London for a quick getaway. Perfect location for walking to eateries and shops in different neighborhoods. Also near the tube and stops for the tourist bus vendors like Hop On Hop Off. Both the room and common areas were really clean and the staff on site were super helpful."
Royal National Hotel
"Perfect is an understatement! Fast Wi-Fi, great location close to the metro, and the room was unique and perfect. The front desk staff handled my late-night check-in smoothly, and the quiet hallways were wonderful for getting rest before exploring Paris."
Park Plaza London Riverbank
"It is in a good location and seems tobe popular with large groups of American Tourists. It has decent facilities and a bar and restaurant Chino Latino that is a cut above the average hotel Coffee Shop. Menu is a ‘poor mans Nobu’. Should have at least one more bar. And the rooms are ok but looking rather tired."
The Tower Hotel, by Thistle
"Very nice, clean motel…staff was wonderful!"
Hotel Riu Plaza London Victoria
"Amazing from start to finish, cannot fault it in any way. The breakfast was delicious and so much choice. Every member of hotel staff was so kind and helpful."
Moxy London Piccadilly Circus
"This is a super trendy hotel with a beautiful entryway, right off of Piccadilly Circus two escalators take you up into an immaculate reception styled like a chic nightclub with gorgeous gold stairs leading up to the bar. The problem? At the base of the escalators a sign indicates that for a step free entry you can walk through a nondescript door off to the side. Down several hallways and turns you find an elevator that will bypass the stairs. When accessibility is hidden behind doors that feel like a loading dock out of view of the glitz and glam of the entryway of the hotel it sends a subtle message: wheelchairs, rollators, walkers, and anyone using them or anyone who is unable to make it up ten steps is not part of the aesthetic of the hotel and should be hidden away. I use a walking aide (a cane) and also had a heavy small rolling suitcase with me and had to drag it around those hallways to get to the front desk. In the morning when I went for breakfast I was pointed down a bizarre staircase with no lift in sight to their glamorous restaurant. Is the restaurant not accessible or was accessibility not offered? Were it not for this I would have easily rated the hotel 5 stars. The staff is great, the hotel is clean, the bed was comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious. When I checked out a staff member happily helped me carry my suitcase down the stair case and escalator and all the way out the front door without being asked."
Royal Garden Hotel
"Definitely a 5⭐️ property in a great location with polite and accommodating staff. Right next to Kensington Gardens makes perfect for an early morning or afternoon walks to reset after a busy, hot summer day of shopping and sightseeing. Would definitely recommend."
Hotel Riu Plaza London The Westminster
"Room was clean, breakfast as usual many varieties and staff overall good."
Bluedaws Private Hotel
"The location and the staff here are amazing! Would definitely stay again."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in London
- Book for the cheapest times: For budget-friendly travelers, January to March in London offers great value for money with lower prices on hotels. A stay of at least 3 to 4 days is ideal to explore the city's key landmarks, historical sites, and cultural attractions, such as theaters, museums, urban architecture, art galleries, historical monuments, castles, shopping areas, and other entertainment venues. This period may offer lower hotel prices, making it a smart choice for those looking to visit London on a budget.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: At Hotels.com, you may discover great savings on hotels by exploring the DealsOpens in a new window section for discounted room rates. If you're planning a spontaneous trip, you could find attractive offers in the Last-Minute Deals section, where you’re more likely to see reduced prices close to your travel date. Additionally, Hotels.com's Smart Shopping tool, available via the app, allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you stay updated on any price drops or available rooms for your last-minute getaway.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate based on various factors, including the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Being flexible with your travel dates may help you find a better deal on your stay in a London hotel. If you're seeking a unique experience, boutique hotels often provide a more personalized atmosphere and can sometimes offer great value. When you book through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If it happens to be on the higher side, we may suggest alternative dates that could lead to more affordable options.
- Consider your location: Hotels near downtown often come with higher price tags, but thanks to London's excellent public transportation system, you might find an affordable independent hotel a bit farther out that’s still well connected. For those interested in exploring alternative, less crowded neighborhoods or even lesser-known nearby cities, there is usually excellent value for money. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
