We had a great time and will return ( this was our 3rd visit). The food is good, our only complaint was service at the Mexican restaurant service was slow (over 2 hours ), it was not busy less than half full. We spent a lot of time at the block 7 club pool with wonderful service from Alex, Angel and Cesar

Been here to EPM about 10 times over the past 10-15 years and like it more than other Excellence Resorts including DR and Riveria Maya. We always got a room around the spa because it was always quiet there and away from the loud, party area which was the pool by the beach. We could hear a pin drop it was so quiet. Not so much anymore. Although it isn't really noisy, visitors, particularly those staying in the first floor rooms where they can just jump in the pool. bring their blue tooth speakers and play music as they sit poolside and drink. They are NOT supposed to have music there because it's the "quiet" section but the hotel has not had a handle on this. If you call security, they'll probably come and say something to them but don't make much effort to stay on top of it. We used to go there and be able to just relax and read books in peace and quiet but now, not so much. This was one thing we REALLY enjoyed about EPM. We also had a group of visitors gather poolside by our room and they were sitting there drinking and being very loud. We were laying out on our balcony relaxing when this happened and it just wasn't enjoyable. I think we may try and reconsider other resorts in the future. This "was" always our favorite.

The Excellence is a beautiful property on a lovely walkable beach. There are a wide variety of restaurants to choose from but we always find the best restaurants are the Mexican restaurants or menu items that are based on traditional cuisine. The staff are friendly and attentive and the grounds are spotless. We upgraded to Excellence Club but honestly not sure what we got for the cost. Not worth extra cost as reservations are not accepted for restaurants, there isn’t an upgrade in wine offered. We didn’t receive daily fruits and petit fours; in 5 nights we had fruit once and petit fours twice. It didn’t matter to us but it was part of the offering. Beach service is the same everywhere and although there are a few quieter pools for Excellence Club guests which are heated we prefer the beach anyway. Although for swimming lengths at the end of the day these pools were great. There is a restaurant accessible only to Excellence club members but honestly the food is very good by resort standards in every restaurant. Would highly recommend this adults only resort if you are looking for a quieter experience without the party vibe!

Hello I booked this property after seeing it being nice on TikTok. Upon my arrival I was very quickly treated like I was not wanted. They were not welcoming never decorated my room for my birthday or acknowledge it. I complained to the front desk and was assaulted by a front desk worker who jumped into my face and snatched my phone as I recorded the incident. They refused to document the incident or tell management. I ended booing another room at another property. The manager Andres seen the video and acknowledged his employees behavior was out of line and not acceptable. He told me to give him sometime to fix the situation and to not post the video of the employee assaulting me. So far nothing has been done by Expedia or the hotel.3,500 dollars wasted to be treated like garage and be assaulted. TERRIBLE experience wouldn’t recommend to anyone.i would like a refund for terrible experience

Our stay was absolutely amazing! The resort was stunning, with breathtaking ocean views, and top-notch amenities. My room was spacious and beautifully designed, with two stories terraced perfect for enjoying the sunset. We love staying at excellence because they always make you feel special. Their commitment to going above and beyond to create a special experience for every guest is incredible! Every staff member is happy to greet you with a smile. We especially felt taken care of by server, Tonatiuh! He was very kind and attentive. You could see how incredibly hard this man works and how he truly loves his job! He was our server for several meals (breakfast and lunch!) sometimes in the same day. Another server by the pool that was especially helpful was Emanuel! He went above and beyond to help us have a great experience! We also participated in some activities at the resort: clay/mud therapy, salsa lessons, and paint & sip. They were all worth the time and enjoyable! We especially enjoyed exploring our creative side during the paint & sip, led by artist Mayte! Finally, we also did an photoshoot with photographer, Orlando. This experience was beyond what we could have expected. He provided the right amount of direction during the shoot, while also listening to what we wanted. The photos came out AMAZING, we just had to purchase the max package (album, 150 photos, and a short video montage w/music). And he was able to get all of this to us, edited, by next day. Overall, we are very pleased with our experience and would love to return in the future!

The room was excellent. Although....a real door to the bathroom would have been appreciated. The glass door that doesn't go to the floor seems like an odd 'privacy' compromise. Service at the VIP restaurant was inconsistent, from excellent to average The beach is beautiful and great for long walks, but the water is tough to swim. The VIP swimming pools and beach lounge areas are great.. Other pools are not heated and cold. The facilities are beautiful. Lots of bars and easy to get to. Tipping is expected....even suggested by staff!
