This property did not meet my expectations. The staff was very rude and was not accommodating. They said that they would place me and my friends in the same building and then ended up making our rooms very far from one another. Upon arriving the first day I spoke to a staff member asking if they could do something special for a friends birthday and, he said I needed to speak to guest services but would need to speak to them when I arrived at the hotel and when I asked to get an email or contact for them because it might not be enough time, he hung up on me and proceeded to hang up on me three more times when I called back stating he had to deal with other customers. The hotels states Tulum, but it is in fact, 30 minutes away from Tulum so that was very deceiving. I should have a look at a map. The hotel also said they had a bar on the beach that closed at 2 AM however they closed at 1:40 the first night that we arrived, which was very disappointing. They also were supposed to give a free welcoming package but then told me that they ran out of bags and I never received it. They also informed me that I would get either a bottle of wine or free 25 minute massage however then proceeded to tell me, I needed to sign up for a membership to receive these perks, which I feel was very deceiving, and they did not provide what this package should have included

The friendliest staff we've ever met. Loved all the animals. Food was great at all dining options. Entertainment was lacking, but we didnt book this resort based on that. Beach was clean. VERY RELAXING RESORT

Staff is super friendly and always happy to help. Buffet was exceptional with all food items being very delicious. One thing to note is that it’s mainly an older crowd here. Overall very comfortable, relaxing, and romantic getaway for couples. The wildlife here was also exciting to see.

2nd time visiting catalonia. Had an amazing stay, pool staff are very friendly and great food. The one thing that got us was the smoke detector woke us up at 4 am our first night. Had to take it down and remove the battery. Called the front desk and they did nothing. 2 days later one was finally back up. Took it down to inspect and they put the battery in backwards so it was inoperable. Messaged the desk again and they said they sould fix it right away. They did not and we didn’t have a smoke detector for our whole stay. Not impressed how they don’t take the guests safety and concerns seriously and just waited til we left.

Beach was beautiful food was alright was either a hit or miss. Staff was very helpful. Everyone was very professional, kind, and helpful. I will say the no elevators with heavy baggage was a big frustrating but the views def make up for it.

The rooms are surrounded by Nature and wildlife. Love that! Choices of dining was great! Loved the Beloved for meals all day!! Great service there also. Drinks were fairly basic in as no additional flair of fruit or vegis but not a problem for us. Good coffee shop in Lobby too.

everything was great, but I didn't not like the cheap liquor. That is not what I drink, Titos vodka is my cheaper vodka I drink. That is not an executive drink and it was not an option. I'm not used to drinking cheap liquor.

We loved the simpler size of the property. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Many of the guests had been coming back for years. The only complaint we have is the food. The buffet at breakfast and lunch never changes and was good but not great. The restaurant at dinner were hit and miss. Loved the steakhouse and Mexican restaurants. The Italian was good but the Asian was awful. I had Pad Thai and it was not like any Pad Thai I had ever had. It was not good! Overall we loved it. We will upgrade to Preferred if we go back.

The Catalonia Royal Tulum is a beautiful property. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious. The beach was especially beautiful. We had the best week here. So laidback and relaxing. I do wish there were more activities and music around the pool. But, we really enjoyed the place. We would definitely come back.

Did not feel the privileged upgrade was worth it. We felt the food was better at the buffet. Wish that was open for dinner. Otherwise no other complaints. We had a great time overall and the beach is phenomenal.

I loved the way they incorporated the jungle into the design. The staff were helpful and pleasant. We booked all of our meals for the week on day one and enjoyed what was offered. Our room was clean as were the grounds. We also enjoyed our morning pool exercise programs with Nico and Abraham!!!
