Will never stay here again, there’s Wild life everywhere the food is disgusting very bland and flavorless the staff at the restaurants are rude and the rooms were not cleaned we had to change rooms upon check in and they over charge for the lack of amenities even though it’s all inclusive only bottom shelf liquor is included you have to pay more for better alcohol which was not advised upon booking

This is the second time I visited Royal Catalonia Tulum. The first time I came solo, which was a wonderful experience, and this time I came with a group of 5 women and stayed for 5 days. We all had an excellent time. The food is delicious, the place feels very safe, the ocean is calm, the water is clear, and the water temperature was great for swimming. We did many activities; stretching, yoga, water aerobics, dancing, volleyball, and bingo. You can spend your time there just relaxing or mix it up with the many fun activities that are planned throughout the day and evening. It’s also fun to walk along the beach, and we got up to watch the sunrise almost every day. My favorite restaurant is Adelita, and Evangelina was our awesome waitress both times. Breakfast and lunch offered many healthy and delicious options, and Quetzabel is incredibly welcoming. She remembered our name after about a day. Everyone working at the resort is so kind and helpful, and they speak English surprisingly well. Beatriz at the front desk was super helpful and arranged our dinner plans and answered any questions we had. Eddie (Edgar) is an amazing dancer, activity leader and just overall wonderful human being. Jesus drove the golf cart and went out of his way to make us comfortable. Marti cleaned our room and it was so fun to come back to our room after swimming all day to find a spotless room with a new creative design with the bedding. We’ll be back!

We enjoyed the property. The staff was excellent and so friendly. Our room was beautiful. We found the mattress a bit hard and the food just ok.

I absolutely loved this resort. Our family stayed at a Dreams resort in the Dominican Republic last year, and we enjoyed that, but Catalonia was far better. Dreams was bigger, had a bigger buffet, no sargassum seaweed on the beach, and an impressive entertainment crew. But, it was the staff at the Catalonia that made all the difference. The people working there were just incredibly warm and friendly. They worked hard to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. After a week there, we felt like we were leaving friends behind. On the entertainment crew, Abraham really stood out. He brought the energy and the humor. At the Steakhouse, Prescilla was very sweet and funny while serving us. Arturo was our waiter at the Mexican restaurant where his smile and friendliness made us feel like we were his only table. Quetzabel greeted us warmly everytime we entered the buffet and really made us feel welcome and accomodated. And during lunch at Bikini Bites, Marcelino and Juan were a lot of fun and made the experience memorable. There were so many others who deserve mentioning as well, but who's names I failed to catch. As far as the more tangible elements of the resort are concerned, they were equally notable. The rooms were great and the housekeeping was excellent. The grounds are beautiful and the pool was inviting. Ironically, I found the buffet food better than the fine dining restaurants on the resort. In short, great resort, and frankly, a great value.

We loved this resort. Quiet and relaxing! We really enjoyed the Japanese and steakhouse. Staff was very helpful and nice. I lost my entire purse on night one with wallet/passport and everything and one of the sweet ladies from the beloved restaurant staff took it to the front desk for me.

This is not a five-star property; it's more like a two-star. My husband and I had to change rooms twice because the mattress was too hard. The rooms are outdated, and the washcloths and towels are stained. The bed sheets have stains as well. The pool area is dirty, with mold and rust on the bar. The entertainment is lacking—music is rarely played, and when it is, it’s not consistent. The lounge chairs are old and in poor condition. Overall, this is not a five-star resort; it should be rated two stars at best. The food is slightly better, so I would give it three stars.

The property is beautiful, serene and romantic. We initially had issues with our room not cooling but the front desk made every effort to accommodate us by allowing us to view other rooms to switch to and even upgrading our room. They were very attentive and checked on us frequently. We loved our stay and will most certainly be back.

We came for our friends destination wedding. The wedding they organized was amazing, very tasteful. No AC in some areas made it hard to deal with great summer days, but hey, that’s for going to Mexico in July. The bathrooms in the hotel room had a distinctive sewer smell, the shower had a dip in it so all of the water pooled in the shower and didn’t drain well. The room service was so bad, do not recommend. The food in the resort was the most okay food I’ve ever experienced, but gave my partner and I stomach problems for the whole trip, but not a huge problem. The drinks by the pool were mid, some being really sweet which I liked. The staff were great, Angela at the lunch buffet was always so happy to see me, and remembered mine and my partners names, even with so many people going through. For some reason we thought that you weren’t allowed to swim in the pool at night - not true, and we had so much fun swimming at night so make sure to do that!! All in all, a good 3/5 stars overall, improving the food would really escalate this resort.
