Huge, Expensive Gamble to Stay Here. Horrible

Huge gamble to book here, check in procedures are inconvenient, borderline unsafe. For late checkin, you have to go into a condo onsite in one of the buildings which have names on them, but you are given a building number to navigate the property at night. I did not feel comfortable finding & going in to a unit late at night. Day time check in is a few miles off site. You will be assigned a privately owned condo & some of them should not be rented. They do not match the description & examples given online. Our condo was in complete disrepair - broken furniture, broken light switches & outlets, moldy lamp shades, broken blinds on the master window out to the hall, no bedskirts with filthy box springs, incredibly outdated furniture, a disgusting old mattress, dirty walls, & peeling kitchen cabinets. I wish I would have taken better pictures, but we just wanted to get out in the morning. We were moved to another unit the next day after the office opened late (10am) & a lengthy discussion because they wanted to do nothing about it. We had a two night stay, so not having a decent unit to use for the whole day we were there messed up our plans. When we got home from our trip, it took many many calls from hotels.com to get $150 back for the $390 were were charged for the first night. They were unwilling to do anything & finally gave us that amount back after much pressure from hotels.com customer service. The pool/ grounds are nice, but not worth the condition of the condo.

Nice property overall, well landscaped. Great pool area with a snack/drink bar, and they play a good mix of music all day to enjoy. The beach area is smallish, but enjoyable. We did a little snorkeling in the calm water there. The grounds were well kept, with the exception of the area under our building, which looked like an abandoned construction site. Obviously there was work in progress, but not while we were there. The photos of the condos on the Expedia site show interiors/decor that are significantly nicer than what our actual unit was. It was more along the lines of disappointing than unacceptable. If we had not checked in so late, after such a long day of travel, I might have asked for a different unit. The TVs in the living room and bedroom were good, and the appliances were new. Wi-Fi was good and fast. But note that the balcony is quite tiny. There is room for the two chairs, but nothing else. Definitely enjoyed the place overall, and would stay here again. But I would be wary of getting a condo that is not as nice as the pictures show.

Hard a great getaway for a week. Loved the beach and pool options. Awesome outing to snorkel at the Christ of the Abyss statue. And also enjoyed kayaking in the mangroves nearby. Great trip!

Safe, Clean and Comfortable.

The ocean view from our room in building 5, on the third floor was amazing! We liked being near the beach and the pool. The pool was clean and well kept. Our suite was clean and comfortable. One of the showers had an issue with the handle that controls the temperature. There was also not usable cutting board. Other than those two complaints, everything met or exceeded our needs. Check in was a little confusing. Check in is not on the same property as the suites. Also, when we lost a room key is was inconvenient to have to go for a drive to get a new one (but that was on us). The office is about a 3 minute drive from the suites, not too far. Just so you know what to expect: the ocean swimming at the beach on the grounds is a little mucky with lots of vegetation growing underfoot. It’s not sandy when you enter the water. The kids didn’t love it, but the pool was a great option. And there are other great beaches in the keys to visit- so no big loss there.

We had to check in at a different place than the hotel, staff very unprofessional, very rude. The unit needed cleaning and better maintenance. Restroom and Kitchen needs upgrade, cabinets were broken cabinets door and nailed so you would not be able to open them . Bedroom bed was horrible, very uncomfortable to the point that we went to the sofa bed and it was in worse conditions. Check in at 5PM and pool closes at 6 pm. Particularly DO NOT STAY IN ROOM 2204. Very disappointed it was my birthday!
