Great Stay Close To Campus!
I was so very happy with my stay at the Comfort Suites Gainesville. The location was perfect, easy and close to campus. Breakfast was just what I needed to start my day! The staff were all so friendly and helpful as well. My room was clean and bright and very comfortable. I would recommend this hotel and will definitely look to book here again. Thankyou!

No clean room available!!!
We arrived at 2 AM and were told that they didn’t have a room for us that was clean and asked us to leave and find another room in another hotel. Apparently other guests at the hotel had not found their room clean so our room was given to them. It is ridiculous that they knew they didn’t have a room for us and they didn’t even bother to call and let us know,…they certainly had plenty of time to do so. Given it was 2 AM, we couldn’t even rebook another hotel for the same night online. Hotels.com wasn’t able to help, because of the same issue. So we ended up driving around to three different hotels and calling around before finding a hotel that was well over x2 the rate we had paid for this hotel. The next morning we tried to contact the manager. He refused to identify himself as the manager and refused to share his name and was rude. He apparently wasn’t even aware of what had happened stating that we had received a room that night!!!

Staff was very accommodating as I was having a medical procedure and needed a first floor room with a shower. Brought our dog and that was great!!! Special shout out to Anthony on the front desk!! Short handed but he kept his cool!!!!

Checkin was awsome. Only problem I had was checkin is at 3 pm, and my service animal roomwas not ready till 3:35 pm. Other than that it was an amazing stay. Room was clean and the staff was friendly.

We (3 of us) needed a room for 1 night for a daylong medical appt the next day. UF Health was 5 mins away -- the ONLY redeeming thing about our stay! Our room was not a suite, as indicated online. The fold-out, wafer-thin couch mattress HAD NO MATTRESS COVER and was impossibly uncomfortable because of the springs in it! We had no linens or pillows in our room for the couch-bed. And because there was only ONE person working (he was awesome), I went to get the linens, so we didn't make him run crazy. If the hotel had been properly staffed, as it should have been, I'd have called for the linens, as I would at any decent hotel. The lone staff person had to not only be front desk, but also laundry folder?! WHY? Reflects very poorly on hotel management company. When we entered our room, the lights' master switch was off. The thermostat battery was nearly dead. Thermostat not very responsive. AC vent COMPLETELY blocked by 1 of the queen beds, so room was stagnant & warm. Bedding was thin, fitted sheet was pilled, worn thin, and scratchy. I felt like I was sleeping in a pile of crumbs. My bed was very uncomfortable. The shower head/water pressure was terrible. I don't think I was able to fully rinse the shampoo from my hair. The hair dryer was old and crappy. There was no nightlight available in the bathroom. Rack card for the TV said "Press GUIDE on remote for channel lineup." We did that and it said, "This option unavailable," and there was no written list available in the room.

Discomfort Suites
I literally paid more when selecting this hotel because I thought it was better. When waiting to check in, another customer grabbed beer from the nearby fridge and cut right in front of me - check thw camera. The front desk attendant helped that customer before me. When checking out, I had to wash up and brush my teeth practically in the dark since the power was out for hours. We spent 5 minutes trying to figure out what was going on and other guest's kids were literally screaming in the halls for at least an hour. At check out, the next front desk attendant said she'd send me a receipt via email when the power came back on. I still haven't received the email and that was over 24 hours ago. There wasn't very much "comfort" at Comfort Suites as the name suggests.
