Overall this hotel is great for families. Plenty of activities for everyone. Easy access to the town on foot. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Hotel is lovely. Downsides, no air conditioning, there is a fan in the room but doesn’t cool it down. The towels smelled really bad.

Staff bend over backward to help.Unfortunately part of the trip involved a bank holiday, so the hotel and the pool were filled with locals on a weekend break and activities like aquarobics and Pilates classes etc. weren't on as the staff were on holiday too. Food plentiful and lots of choice but the hot dishes could have been hotter, as it was they were quite tepid, but served on hot plates. Conveniently placed for a 15 minute walk into town and to the local park where a brass band was playing.Nightly entertainment for the kids was excellent, entertainment for the adults was a bit samey with mostly singers, but an excellent magic act. Sun beds and particularly umbrellas around the pool were in short supply, and some of the deck chairs were in poor condition.The restaurant staff need particular comment as they were superb, attentive and efficient.For a 3 star hotel,it was excellent and would recommend it.

I was in Jersey for business, and despite the hotel being more family/holiday orientated, it was perfect for my needs. The food was good, the staff we’re brilliant; friendly and helpful at all times. The pool area was on the other side of the road from the entrance so you never heard it. Ample parking, and a short walk into town.

Excellent with families, clean, great staff.

I’ve stayed at most of the hotels in Jersey, and all of the best ones - I would never pick to stay at the Merton on my own, but if you’re staying with small kids you can’t fault this hotel. Single parent with two kids, regularly take them here for local ‘stay cations’. The kids love it. Exceptionally clean for an older hotel, and the staff are excellent. We will be coming back, and recommend it
