Take Your Chances
Despite a check-in time of 4 pm, we got into the two rooms I booked after 4:30 pm (we arrived at 3:30 PM hoping they might be available) - they weren't, and the front desk suggested that we wait by the pool. Once there, the expected sound of waves splashing on the nearby Atlantic shore was drowned out by the loud noise of construction or cleaning equipment being used by workers at the hotel - possibly supporting roof repair or the carpet cleaning mentioned by the front desk as the reason why our rooms weren't ready. BTW, there was no information regarding maintenance work on the website when I booked the reservations. My room was clean, the layout was great, and everything worked - I couldn't have been happier. The second room for other family members showed signs of damage (a picture torn off the wall was left on the floor leaning against the wall, a door jamb was split as if someone tried to kick it in, a broken toilet seat, and the bathroom floor was filthy (he has pictures) with chunks of dirt/hair in the corners. Were my friends given the "penalty room" because they dared to complain about check-in time not being honored? The hotel made no apology for the inconvenience. Breakfast at the hotel's Seascape Restaurant the following day was enjoyable in the brightly lit room overlooking the ocean, but we weren't sorry to check out and move on. Thoughts: Are check-in times meaningless? If one complains about mistreatment, should they expect revenge? Yes, to both at the NSB BW.

WORST HOTEL
upon entering the room for the first time, the bathroom had been made to look like it was cleaned for us however, the tub was full with water, hair & dirt. towels had literal pubic hair on them which was a huge health violation. the sink also didn’t drain and was moldy, a roach crawled out of it at one point, blinds were broken, the old man at the front desk was rude and wouldn’t give me an extra blanket despite me having Pneumonia and needing one. he looked me up and down and just said “No” ?? i also lost my cats in the room at one point and he scared me even more bc he told my boyfriend that they “probably just jumped off the 7th story balcony onto the pool deck” yet didn’t even offer to unlock it for us and instead had him hop the fence. luckily they were somehow just under the bed and good thing seeing that the staff wasn’t much help! i will not return again. this was the absolute worst vacation i have ever had.

There was construction going on that we were not told would be happening. Was awaken with hammering and other tools very early in morning and went all day long. One elevator worked and made getting to or from room extra lengthy. No room cleaning or fresh towels for and no hospitality from staff. They were unhelpful and seemed unfamiliar with the area. My bed had a plastic cover on it that was covered with mold and mildew. Disgusting

Hotel is under construction but underlying this the facility is old and very run down. I get that coastal properties are hard to maintain but if you are on top of it, which a Best Western should be, it is doable. Staff were great. Room was clean. Deck area was a disappointment. Just an overall power wash of the exterior would make a huge improvement. Deck around the pool is wood and fear of splinters is real. I would give this property a pass.

Expedia said they had blackout curtains there were none in that room The blinds were missing a few blinds Carpet in the room is very nasty It needs to be replaced. We had an issue with our air conditioner and they replaced it the next day. There was a lot of construction going on some noise. There was only one elevator working that's very inconvenient. The room was nice except for the carpet. The bed was comfy plenty of towels clean coffee maker refrigerator

Don’t stay here!
I’ve always had a positive experience with Best Western but this was a horrible stay! Room 304 ceiling was covered in mold and I was coughing the entire night. I saw 3 cockroaches. I killed two and trap one alive under a cup for housekeeping. Carpets were old and dirty. Also shower water was some kind of yellowish-green. There was a leftover potato chip. It doesn’t seem like housekeeping did a good job cleaning from the last stay. I have picture proof of everything.

The room had a bad smell to it and the beds were uncomfortable. Also has construction or something going on in room above us that started at 7:00AM that was very loud. The lady at checkin was very nice though and the access to the beach was pretty.
