Room for improvement

It’s a very unique place with charm but there were food crumbs all over the floor in my room near the couch. I requested a box of tissues from the staff as the one in my room was empty and was told no. I came down to the breakfast room in the morning and seated myself as the sign advised; however, I sat for 40 minutes and was never greeted or served by the overwhelmed waitstaff. I made eye contact with the server and smiled but was ignored, maybe because I didn’t fit in the with the rest of the hotel guests which are overwhelmingly elderly.

Weekend getaway

Charming property with a great staff! The town is awesome to stroll the streets and visit the shops. A unique Farmers Market on Saturday mornings! Do not expect an early check in so be prepared. Breakfast is wonderful! We will return.

Great place to stay in Bardstown

We went to visit attractions in the Bardstown area, including Heaven Hill Distillery. The Talbott Inn is well situated for stays that include visits along the Bourbon Trail. The building has a rustic charm, and the rooms are modern and comfortable. The staff was friendly and eager to help. Having the tavern so close is a plus and the complimentary breakfast was exceptional.

Wonderful old inn

Amazing place lots of history, room over the bar was loud but it’s to be expected when you stay at a old hotel with only 6 guest rooms. We loved it, the balcony is great in the evening people watching and the old fashions are great.

Bourbon Trail 2025

I booked my room months in advance at the same time with 2 other couples and they put us in the older part of the hotel without notice, while the other 2 couples traveling with us were in the renovated part of the hotel. We were not told of this until 2 days before traveling and by then all other rooms in the hotel were booked for the weekend. Water in shower was cold, room smelled musty, bed was not comfortable at all. Not a great experience.

Beware of live music

Wonderful historic old inn in downtown Bardstown, in good condition, limited parking but plenty nearby. Be aware there is live music Thursday until 10pm, Friday and Saturday until 01.00 directly bellow rooms 4, 5 & 6, and I don't know if it will affect other rooms

Interesting and Convenient

We had a good time on our one-night stay at the Talbott Inn. Check-in was slightly confusing because there was 2 separate buildings, and we weren't sure where to go. Everyone was helpful in getting us checked in once we found the appropriate spot. We arrived at prime dinner time, and parking was difficult to find right around the inn due to the dinner/drink crowd. We had to park 2 blocks away, but found a parking spot right out front the next morning for easier checkout. We did enjoy the food both at dinner and breakfast!

Great location. Nice little town. Friendly staff. Good price. Free breakfast - although it wasn't hot; it was warm. Don't stay at this property unless your love for history outweighs your love of staying at a comfortable hotel. Floors are slanted, which makes them uncomfortable to walk on - especially at night when you are in the dark and walking to the bathroom. It's hard to find the entrance to check in - it's not clearly marked and there are 2 buildings. Hours to check-in aren't convenient. Building is closed and locked nightly at 8 pm You hear a lot of traffic. The hot water in the shower is inconsistent - sometimes you get it; sometimes you don't. The heating/cooling isn't great. Nice place to visit - to see the interesting history - but not the best place to stay. At least for me and my travel companion.

The room was not really all that clean. Our refrigerator did not work. Parking is kind of an issue. However I have no idea how you would solve that! The folks above us were loud all through the night. Again, not something you can really control.
