This inn is in a terrific location but fell a little short with the amenities offered. The literature mentioned things such as a fire pit at night and drinks/small bites at the historic tavern. The fire pit did not happen the night we were there and the tavern was closed for some reason. There are not many other options close by so to have the tavern closed was unfortunate. We had a room in the adjoining barn that was very spacious and well maintained. However, there was definitely an odor that indicated moistness on the first floor and some of the hallway areas.

A Fabulous Adventure

A beautiful piece of history! The house is lovely and unique! We stayed in the Lantern Room which had access to the cupola via a spiral staircase in the room! The view from there is spectacular! We ordered a charcuterie board for a light dinner and ate it in the cupola while enjoying the scenery. You can bike (free to use), walk along the shore, swim, enjoy meals out, read, play games and so much more! Delicious breakfast is provided each morning while warm cookies and lemonade are served each afternoon! You can relax or be as busy as you want to be!! We loved our 3 day visit!!

We recently stayed at the Stone House Inn and were disappointed by how misleading the room listing was. The inn is advertised as a historic property with charm and character, which is what drew us to book in the first place. However, when we arrived, we were placed in a separate concrete building that was not part of the historic inn at all. We were aware that each room is unique with charm and character, however this room was a concrete bunker with no charm or character to be found. Nowhere in the reservation process or on the website were we informed that our room would be outside of the main building. If this had been made clear, we would have made a different choice. The setting was peaceful and the grounds are beautiful, but the misleading presentation of the accommodations left us feeling misled and disappointed. I would strongly encourage the management to update the website and booking descriptions to more accurately reflect the differences between the historic inn and the Warren suite, located in a concrete bunker adjacent to the beautiful inn.

Wonderful stay

Tucked at the edge of the charming town of Little Compton, the Stone House Inn is a true escape from the bustle of city life. The property is stunning—both the historic building and its serene surroundings left us in awe. Our room was spacious, spotless, and beautifully maintained. We also appreciated the thoughtful amenities, including complimentary bikes and direct beach access.

Unfortunately our stay at this very beautiful location was ruined by the 82 degree room that you could not cool down. We were told to open the doors to the balcony to let cool air in, but the screen window was missing and hornets were entering. We left in the middle of the night unable to tolerate the heat. From the website I thought it was a beachfront location but this is not the case. The tub was a square, uncomfortable box, not like the beautiful tub shown in the website photo. The staff was very friendly. You just need to understand what you are getting into if you stay here. For us it was unfortunately a ruined Mother’s Day getaway.

Gorgeous, relaxing retreat

We wanted to be on the beach in a quiet town and that’s what we got. We loved our room in Heron. We had a huge bath tub, lots of space, a lovely porch and lots of windows towards the water. The only bummer was the fireplace didn’t work. We really wanted to use that. And we could hear people walking around upstairs above us. The natural light in the bathroom was really nice. The sunset was beautiful when the weather cooperated. The walk to the beach is nice and easy. We saw lots of shore birds and ducks. The restaurant was nice, quaint, the food was good, as long as you’re okay waiting a bit for your drinks. I loved the campfire with everything you need for s'mores. Breakfast was healthy and thorough with lots of fresh fruit and tables overlooking the water to eat at. I wish I got to explore and see all the rooms because they seem unique.
