The Royal Cancun overall was good. The only bad thing was the customer service, was not the friendliest. Also the constant tipping, i would of liked to do 1 tip at the end of my trip instead of every meal and every drink order. Room service was super super good !!!

My family of 5 enjoyed our stay. We were visiting Mexico with two other families. It is very difficult to find hotels that accommodate 5 people and therefore we were limited in our choices of hotels. The rooms were very spacious, clean, and comfortable. The Royal Cancun grew on us during the week we stayed. It is a calm, quiet environment, with self lef activities available during the day. Having access to the Royal Sands accommodations was a great addition for a change in scenery. The Italian restaurant was great, as well as the seafood restaurant at the Sands. We would have loved to have more activities for the family to do at night (we were there for a week and one night they had a silent disco that was really fun). We thankfully were thwre with two other families so we were able to entertain oursleves with games and swimming. I would recommend for families or people that are looking for a calm, relaxing vacation

Nothing but good things to say about The Royal - especially if traveling with littles! Location is prime. Buffet and menu options were great. Room service came in handy to keep fridge stocked and for late night dinner after arriving from an excursion to Xcaret. Definitely recommend!

This checks all the boxes if you want quite and reserved. It perfect for older/elderly. Or families with kids. Their Sands property is updated and lively! The food at both locations are just "ok". I honestly was disappointed with the buffets at both locations... the food lacked flavor! And they don't have any motorized water sports/play..But over all we had a good time.

I recently stayed at this hotel and unfortunately, it did not live up to expectations. First and foremost, this property is primarily geared toward timeshare guests. The accommodations are quite outdated, and our room had a persistent unpleasant odor. The most misleading aspect, however, was the marketing. The photos on the website are highly deceiving. The beach, which appeared stunning online, turned out to be quite the opposite in reality. It was full of seaweed and not well-maintained. Additionally, the hotel is located on a peninsula, not on open water, so the view resembles a lake more than an oceanfront — again, not something made obvious from the promotional images. That said, I do want to highlight some positives. The staff was consistently courteous and friendly, and the food exceeded my expectations. The culinary team seems to genuinely put in the effort, and our meal at the Italian Trattoria restaurant was quite good. Special thanks to our server that night, who provided excellent service. Ultimately, while I appreciated the hospitality and food, I would not choose this hotel again for a vacation due to the misleading marketing and underwhelming beach experience.

This was a phenomenal property and so well maintained. This was our first stay at the Royal Cancun and we will definitely be back. What we liked most was how spacious the rooms were and how quiet the resort was. It was extremely safe for our kids and the service was amazing! We felt that the drinks and food were great value for the money. We went over to the Royal Sands once for dinner and we weren't impressed. That resort felt too large for us. Overall, it was a fabulous time and we can't wait to return!
