Nice place near Ark Encounter

Very convenient to the Ark Encounter, 1/2 mile walk at most. Hotel was clean and the fee for our pet was reasonable. It hotel is older but well kept.

Not as presented.

This hotel was misrepresented on the website. It was an older outdated hotel with no pool. The rooms were small and the a/c was loud. I could hear the guest in the room beside mine snore all night and the overall area of the hotel was dirty, loud and unfavorable. The staff was nice and helpful when possible. The location to our destination was the only real positive about this stay. Disappointed to say the least.

Hospitality can't make up for it

While the staff was friendly and accommodating, it does not overcome the fact that this hotel is rundown and not well maintained. If you do choose to stay here, as it is close to the base, bring ear plugs to block out the highway noise.

Average for a motel

The room was average clean. But our room needed a few things. There was no vent in the bathroom, the toilet was loose. There were several cosmetic issues, dings in the plaster, etc. However, the beds were clean, the towels were clean, and the air conditioning worked well.

Overall Good

We booked here for convenience to the Ark and for the price & reviews. Yes it is an older motor lodge, but it is maintained pretty well and the cleanliness was excellent!! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only negative we really had was the breakfast, which we didn’t eat. It consisted of just waffles, muffins, cereal, boiled eggs, & yogurt. From other reviews, I had expected more, such as a meat, ie bacon or sausage, or eggs, and maybe biscuits and gravy. But they do say it is a continental breakfast, so it is just that. So we drove 4 miles to eat in Dry Ridge which had several eating options. But El Jalisco Mexican food across from it is excellent!!! Huge portions of delicious food at good prices! Entrees are big enough to share! Even though it is “across the street “ from the Ark, we were glad we paid the $15 for parking since it was unexpectedly raining, and it is quite a hike from the lodging to the Ark entrance. And be aware that the Creation Museum is in another town about 40 miles away close to the Cincinnati airport, so be prepared to drive.

A little disappointed

Close to the Ark Encounter which was the reason for our stay. The furniture was older but the room seemed clean except for some dead bugs under the table. The floors didn’t seem as clean as most places we have stayed. And the pillows were very hard so I ended up rolling some clothing up to make a pillow.

Very convenient if visiting The Ark

Staff was very nice. Had issue with remote, contacted office and they sent maintenance over with new remote. Older property but well maintained. For the cost and convenience of being across from The Ark would recommend.
