Huge disappointment! We had booked the lavender room back in June for a special weekend getaway and paid in advance. We had requested the lavender suite as a special romantic getaway for my husband & I. We arrived for our stay on October 10, & owner Brenda, after checking us in, informed us that we would be staying in a different room called the monument room because she gave our room to a “young couple,” who wanted to stay longer. She didn’t ask us if it was OK or offer us any compensation or apologies, she just checked us in and brought us to the monument room which was ugly, had a dirty moldy Keurig machine & the room smelled like dirty feet. The Keurig machine had mold in the water dispenser. (SEE PHOTO). We didn’t realize our room was sold out from under us until we saw the name on the door that said monument room. When we asked her, that’s when she told us that a “young couple” was given the lavender room. This put a bad taste in our mouth from the get-go because we had paid basically $700 for three nights & we requested a special room & our reservation had been confirmed. This is not good customer service & she didn’t seem to care. Additionally, the “premium bedding” was not even close to being premium bedding. The pillows were terrible & felt like bags of cut up sponges and they were terribly uncomfortable. The gas fireplace could not even be used because it wasn’t the right time of year, even though it was cold & rainy the entire time we were there. NEVER AGAIN!
