We had a beautiful week at the Platinum Yucatan Princess in our junior deluxe swim-out suite. We stayed in the 4020 block and it was a quiet area of the resort. There were a few larger groups in that area as well, but everyone was respectful and the pool didn’t feel crowded.

Very nice and relaxing resort with very friendly staff. This resort is undergoing some major renovations right now so some of the amenities that we loved last year were not available this year unfortunately.

Everything was good except no access to the beach due to the sea weed, we weren't aware of that and ir was so disappointing, the hotel didn't offer any compensation in return

Overall stay was mediocre. I wish I had better things to say but the issue that I had and the way it was handled was poor. Good location, good amenities. Friendly staff.

This is my issue with my overall experience. About a 2 inch cockroach in my room. The problem wasn’t the cockroach so much, but the way this incident was handled.

The food was subpar. A lot of the restaurants were not open at convenient times. This is no one’s fault, but the sargassum (seaweed/algae) on the beach made the entire resort smell. Also one of the “raccoon-like” coatis took a dump on the patio and you must make sure to lock the door, because if not, they will enter your room and eat your food and ransack the place. Pools, staff, and spa were amazing.

Really enjoyed my stay here. I booked a swim out room, and thankful I did. Was nice waking up every morning and having the ability to jump right into the pool. Room itself was very spacious. Bed was comfortable, and the furniture was simple, but worked. Didn't feel trendy or dated. I dined at the 2 of the restaurants and did the buffet. I've read a lot of complaints about the food, and honestly, nothing I had was bad. On the same note, nothing also really stood out. I used the room service feature, and the wait time was about 45 minutes, so please keep that in mind if you are famished. Staff were professional and courteous. I went in the season of sea weed, so the beach was not accessible (I travel to Mexico often, so this is not a surprise to me. Please research when this happens so you are not caught off guard by it). I have only 2 minor complaints. The first, is I am an early riser. So I had to wait till about 730/0800 to get my swim time in as they were doing the maintenance on the pools (not dinging them for this, as this is very much a resort that has an active night life). The second is the remoteness of this location. My excursions that I booked, I was in the cab/vans a lot due to being the first one being picked up (e.g. I booked a Chichen Itza tour, and left at 0700, and got back at 2330). So if you plan to do any long excursions, look at spending the extra money and do it exclusive). I had a lot of fun and would stay here again.

Would definitely go back, but some issues

First the good! The bellhops Amazing! The entertainment group are great, Tania was amazing at the rifle shooting and casino night, Fernando is the BEST waiter of all! All of the activities are fun and well put together. The bartenders keeps the drink coming and they are mixed well. The room was comfortable and clean with the BEST a/c ever! Rodeo is the best restaurant with big DELICIOUS portions! The wildlife is so COOL, caoti, raccoons, iguanas, and 2 cute black cats! Now the not so good. The lobby staff is not great, when you arrive there are 3 staff but only 2 are helping. We did an off site excursion and were told we would get box lunches, due to our leave time the Buffett is not open early, we spoke to the concierge he wrote down 4 boxes at 6:00 am, we got up went to the lobby to get are boxes and the not so kind check in person told us we don’t have them you should have gotten a ticket. We spoke to 3 people the day before about getting the lunches and not 1 person told us about a ticket. The food is not great, and food is not readily available during the day. The Buffett is open all day but you can only get food food during the designated times, the have a “snack time” but it was just hamburger, hot dogs and fries. I would like to be able to have fruit at snack time. Also the activities are fun but it is hard to find out where they are located, and some you have to sign up in advance but it’s not written anywhere.

When I arrived Isreal greated me by name. Smiles from everyone make it welcoming. The seaweed was very bad. I would recommend a different method for cleaning the beach of seaweed.

I visited Platinum Princess Yucatán. It was very clean, safe and quiet. Plenty of options to eat and drink. The food was great, especially when ordering straight from the grills. Various activities to do onsite and great excursion opportunities too.

The property was beautiful but huge and hard to navigate your way around. The shows all began at 10pm so we did not get to catch any of the shows. I was not aware that they required long pants and closed toe shoes for men at dinner so we had to go buy clothes just to go to dinner at the restaurants. It was a nice place but unfortunately it did not fit our preferences.
