Biking around

This hotel is within walking distance of food, the bike path to Stanley Park and entertainment. We appreciated the extra fans placed in the room for the hot outside temperatures.

Cecil of Canada

With bars on the windows, it looks very sketchy from the outside. Once inside you get the feeling of an hourly motel. As we get to the elevator and to the room, all I’m thing about is the Cecil motel. Dirty carpets everything is very outdated and mismatched. We were there for a large conference weekend, so everything else was booked, or 1000. a night. We made it there for 3 nights spending a little time in the room as possible…..only drinking bottled water. Food,Safeway,7/11,Starbucks, and the beach is all within walking distance. Would I stay there again? No.

Enkelt och förhållandevis billigt hotell med mycket bra läge intill English Bay Beach. Standarden är ganska låg - heltäckningsmattorna i korridorer och (vissa) rum är gamla och otroligt ingrodda med smuts - man vill inte gå utan skor på rummet.

Best Location Best Views Best Service Near Beach

Amazing location, can’t beat it, across from English bay beach where all the fun and good vibes are. We had ocean view room with full kitchen and bathroom with tub. The space was big as it’s a full-size studio apartment. Everything was clean and it had A/C unit in room. The beds were comfortable and we slept great. Stayed 2 nights and the front desk staff are all super nice and helpful. We definitely stay again!

Budgethotel in Traumlage.

Das Hotel ist total abgewohnt - hat aber eine sehr gute Lage an der English Bay. Die renovierungsbedürftigen Zimmer sind relativ groß und haben eine Küche. Unser Zimmer hatte sogar Meerblick.

The hotel is rundown and not very clean. The reception staff were not at all flexible at letting us in even a little early to our room despite having had a very long flight and then walking around the city for 6 hours to pass time. The lobby stank of marijuana and the daytime front office staff were not very responsive or helpful. After a very long flight and walking around for 6 hours to pass time I still had to persuade them to let us in the room only half an hour early. The lift is tiny and the air freshener in it so strong that we took the stairs each time. Bedding clean and quite comfy, but the room also smelt quite odd and musty. The location is great but we wouldn’t stay there again.

Beware, top dollar, beside Stanley Park

Looked great from pictures beside beach and Stanley Park 20 min walk to downtown at top dollar. You are paying for the location not the hotel itself. Room was 35 years in the past with many rules posted everywhere.

Kinda nice but looks dangerous

We arrived late due to our flight changing, and the people at the desk were kind, but did not offer to help us with our luggage. The taxi cab driver that dropped us off didn’t like helping us either people in that particular area don’t seem to have a strong customer service value system. I have worked decades in Customer service and unfortunately this is a trend that I have seen overtime and it seems to be increasing in a lack of customer service the place was clean and it was comfortable. My daughter with disabilities had no problem navigating in the room, so that’s why I give it a thumbs up, due to my daughter and husband liking the room for the television and the bigger beds. We had a great two night stay. The hotel was quite basic, but we had a room with a kitchenette and partial view of the sea. The staff were great, friendly, happy and helpful. Not shiny but did all we wanted.
