Upon arrival i was told by the very rude front desk person i would have to pay the taxes because i didnt appear as a tourist "in their system". I told the man i had entered the country to visit as a tourist that is impossible. It was my 4th day in the country and i had stayed in other hotels and was never told this. He didnt care and in a very condecending manner told me i had to pay. Well i did and later while looking at my passport i see the immigration stamp with the letters RT which is the tourist permit. I go back down show it to another rude and condecending front desk person and he tells me hmmm i wonder how that got there because my coworker told me he had not seen that. I asked him sir are you implying i am trying to somehow cheat you?? Most ridiculous thing ive ever encountered in my many years of travel around the world. Reluctantly they reimbursed my tax payment. Would strongly recommed you stay at Hotel Estelar down the road much nicer place and infinitely better service. My friend who lives there told them they should be ashamed and that she will make sure to never have anyone visiting stay there again!!!

i made a reservation for my entire family beacuse july 6th was my Mom's birthday. I'm totally disspointed with this chain hotel. it advertise false information. on the web mentioned that pool is under maintenance on monday and tuesday. i made a reservation for 3 rooms from July 4th to July 7th. the Pool was closed and the water in the pool was green. by Saturday July 5th around 6:30pm i call to complaint becuse if the hotel had any issues with the pool, Hotel should have informed people who made reservations. Villavicencio is palce with hot weather and as a turist you want to be able to refresh and used the pool and jacuzzi. after complaint personal changed attitude towards my family. My family upon arrival, on saturday,and on sunday reconfirmed my mom's birthday. so hotel could do special gesture duirng breakfast, lunch or dinner. Due to complaint, on Sunday the hotel personal responded sorry we are busy. I DEFiNITELY WON'T RECOMMENT THIS HOTEL " GHL GRAND VILLAVIVENCIO HOTEL. Advertise false information and horrible customer service. I should have listened to my friend show suggested the Estelar villavicencio hotel
