Last minute family trip

This was a last minute family trip. I have to say that the staff at the front desk was amazing. Thank you so much to Sharon, Hadigah and Marsha that made sure that we had everything we needed and accommodated us. From upgrade request to late check out (last minute). You are the best!. Our Stay at Allegria

The service staff were very helpful and did a good job keeping the room clean and organized. The food was adequate. We were very disappointed with the quality of the mattress, which was very hard and uncomfortable. The pillows were overly large and caused neck strain for some of the guests. Needless to say, sleep is key for an enjoyable stay anywhere. In addition, the key card malfunctioned and repeated requests to have it repaired were ineffective or ignored. Sadly, we do not feel that we could recommend Allegria to friends or family for the reasons indicated.

Where to begin...a long list

Because it the only decent hotel on Long Beach they're able to charge high rates. Its pretty much a Best Western. 1. Towels old and dingy 2. No Wifi- does not work. I brought my computer down to the front desk for assistance and the guy couldn't help me. My friend staying there experienced the same. 3. No food served on the pool roof during the week 4. The roof pool is soooo small 5. Events calendar displayed for July but it was August and no events during the peak summer month 6. Rude lady at beach chair/towel/beach card check in said after she was annoyed with my son playing with a beach ball that was for sale, "Take him out there to the beach maybe he'll get attacked by a shark". Thats great for a kid to hear! 7. You have to carry you own beach chairs and towels a far distance to where you can swim on the beach- glad I'm paying $500 a night for that. 8. You sign away your life to borrow beach chair, towels and the beach card. CRAZY!!! Can't there be a beach attendant on the beach already!?!? 9. Old dingy hotel the hallways remind me of a Best Western but wait I'm paying $500. 10. Read the reviews of the restaurant on the property. Enough said...regarding the food. 11. Lobby and pool furniture....again Best Western!! Couldn't wait to leave this hotel, sooooo glad I only stayed one night. Never again am I trusting my friend and going along with her terrible hotel picking skills.

Too busy to address concerns

We arrived after 4 pm and our room was still not ready. We were told it was still being cleaned (my husband heard the lesson at the desk say that the woman in the room prior wouldn’t check out as she was sick but I didn’t catch that. I hope it wasn’t true.) We were given drink vouchers for the bar that we never used as we had plans with family in the area and were travelling with our children. When we arrived into the room is smelled like smoke. I spoke with the person at the front desk who promised that the manager would call me the next day and hopefully find us a new room or “make it right.” we slept poorly with the smell of smoke in the room or venting in from somewhere else. Nobody called the next day or the following day. I am aware there were two weddings this weekend and the hotel was fully booked but we would have appreciated for someone to follow up. The room was not well maintained. A few lights didn’t work, the bathroom tiles holding the shower glass were completely cracked. Being right by the elevator was extremely noisy late into the night as well as early morning. For the high price we would have hoped for a more restful stay and more attention when we expressed concern at the smell of smoke in the room. Again we are sympathetic that the hotel was fully booked but the cost per night was higher than other places we looked and hoped for the better customer service under the circumstances.

Not worth the price

Wouldn’t stay here again. $60/night for a “resort fee” and we still had to pay extra to get chairs and towels for the kids for a beach day. We went up to enjoy the pool, which ended up having cloudy water and was overcrowded, and were informed we’d have to leave by 5pm because the hotel was hosting an evening event in the rooftop space. The rooms were of medium quality but the shower was in pretty bad shape with almost no water pressure. The walls and ceiling were so thin that we could hear people in the rooms around us even if they were walking and speaking at normal volumes. We thought we had paid a premium for a nicer stay in Long Beach but I can’t recommend this place.

Too bad...

Loved the location, beautiful view of boardwalk and beach. Many of the staff were helpful and sincere, unfortunately they have a few, you don't really want to know. So training is a clear issue. Most rooms smelled of a mildew, we settled into the first room they brought us to because they were kimd enough to unlock the window so we xould get fresh breeze off the ocean. My overall assessment, it was OK. At the price they charge, i would have hoped for more. Unfortunately, they are the only game in town if you want to be on the beach. If i had the energy I had 20 years ago, I'd build a competing hotel in Long Beach.

Bech front/boardwalk location is stunning, rooftop pool is great (family friendly). Access to bikes, surf gear at a cost. Beach passes, chairs and towels are included. Great food, easy access to local amenities. Staff are super helpful and friendly. Looking forward to returning.
