A great stay The hotel is right on the sea front and 2 minutes walk to the town center and train station. All the stuff were very friendly and helpful. The reception and dining area is set out well and is very clean and spacious. The room was very clean and cleaned every day. The staff were not knocking your door at 9am to clean your room like in some places I've stayed. The shower room was a good size with a good amount of towels and clean. If you are going to Paignton and want to stay somewhere close to all the entertainment venues and beach this is the place for you.

Arrived just after 3pm for check in to find a crowd in the foyer and most were being told that rooms were not ready. No timescale given so sat there for almost an hour before being told we were being given one of the rooms that was ready. Not even offered a drink whilst waiting.

I am writing to formally express my extreme disappointment with the service and conditions experienced during my stay at your hotel. Despite raising concerns during our visit, no action was taken to address the following unacceptable issues: • Air Conditioning and Room Comfort: The air conditioning and fan in our room were completely non-functional. The room had no windows that could be opened, resulting in unbearable heat—over 25°C—even in the evening. It was impossible to rest or sleep in such conditions. • Room Cleanliness: Our room had clearly not been cleaned, which added further to our discomfort and dissatisfaction. • Lack of Staff and Communication: Upon trying to get service at the bar, we waited 25 minutes before being told that staff should be starting soon. When we returned another 30 minutes later, there was still no one available. This was not a one-off occurrence—staff were notably absent throughout our stay. • No In-Room Phone: Our room lacked even a basic telephone. This is not only highly inconvenient but also a safety concern in the case of an emergency. I attempted to call reception multiple times from my mobile with no response, despite having call logs to prove my efforts. • Lack of Support: I was forced to come down to reception in person—while trying to get ready for bed—just to get any form of help. This is simply unacceptable and demonstrates a serious failure in customer service and hotel operations. Given these numerous issues, I am demanding

Nice place to stay but poor quality breakfast

The location and service for this hotel were amazing. The room condition, bathroom etc, were clean and tidy. The only thing that was not appealing was the Breakfast. The choices were limited and not worth the value. The price paid for this breakfast was £15, but not satisfied.

Long weekend away.

Right from the booking in until we left. The lady that booked us was very polite and helpful. We had a priemer room on the top floor. The view was great, it looked over to the pier and beach. The room was really big, the bed was massive really comfortable. Breakfast was reasonable price and you had good options. We were only 5 minutes away from the town centre and shops. Definitely go back in the future.

Great Stay for a Business Trip

Not that good

Paid extra for superior room. No fridge, No bottled water, not even a biscuit for your tea. Shower designed poorly so whole bathroom soaked after using it. Only 1 coffee machine at breakfast. No cider for days. Wouldn't rush back. Lovely view

Stay was ok, but not as good as sister hotel Mecure, was missing little things like: drinking glasses in room, dressing gowns. It felt a bit budget as no mirror over dressing table, only 1 pillow on bed, only 1 teabag, and no information pack/ booklet, room was more or less empty except bed and TV, not even a bin liner. Sea view interrupted by pillar in middle of 2 windows. Staff not very helpful, but were short staffed, so probably not their fault, breakfast ok, but could getter better elsewhere for similar price, just convenient onsite, parking additional fee and limited spaces. Lovely location on front, ideal for amenities.

Ibis or Mercure

No idea what the Ibis is like, i received an email early on the morning of our stay to say we've been moved to the Mercure next door, The Mercure check in wasnt great as the room wasn't ready, the hotel and room was good, admin wise not so good
