Breathtaking location

We stayed in High Peaks for two nights in a waterfront room (716). The location is absolutely breathtaking. The room itself was very spacious and comfortable, I gave it a 4 star for comfort as bed was a little hard for my liking but I know that is personal. The staff at the waterfront were helpful and friendly, the kayaks, paddle boards etc are free of charge and readily available. The hotel itself is in a great location in the town within walking distance of everything. I would highly recommend this hotel and would return without hesitation.

Dog-friendly Hotel with Great Views

We stayed at High Peaks Resort twice and had a lovely stay both times. We chose this hotel because it is dog-friendly, and we do not like to board our senior dog if we don't have to. It has a great location and beautiful views. The hotel provided a dog bed, dog bowls, and a cute bandana for our dog. The first time we stayed, we had a room on the first floor overlooking the pool with a door that opened directly to the grass outside, which was really convenient with our dog. The second time we booked too late and there were no first-floor rooms available. But I would recommend requesting a first-floor room with outdoor access if you stay with a dog. The views are beautiful (see photo), and you can easily walk to Main Street from the hotel.

Great stay

Stayed in the resort building and highly recommend. Thanks to Lea (I think?) at the front desk for helping both me and my sister out with our rooms and making both our stays fantastic. Say the lake house rooms though and they are dark and feel dated. I’d definitely stay in the main building. Paddle boards were an excellent amenity.

Lakeside Living

It was roughly 15 years ago we stayed at High Peaks Resort with the kids when they were about 5 years old and we brought them back this year for a new perspective. The first time around we stayed at a room in the Main Resort, this time around we stayed at a room in the Waterfront Collection. Excellent room with obvious wonderful views. We stayed just off the pool area Waterfront Collection rooms so that we had an open view of Mirror Lake morning, noon, and night. Open your door and you are 10 yards from the water. From 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. there will be guests right outside your room relaxing in chairs and using the various water craft (paddleboards, kayaks, pedal boats, etc.). It reminded us somewhat of a beach so we did not mind the relative lack of privacy just outside the room. We stayed early week in July for three nights. The room itself was very clean with the large bathroom being the highlight, wonderful spacious shower with overhead shower head. Several channels on the TV but no movie channels and satellite picture not that great in the mountainous area. Fabulous location. High Peaks rests on the edge of Main Street with "walkabiltiy" perhaps he best overlooked feature: walk to Main Street for shopping and restaurants or go in the opposite direction for a nice evening walk along Mirror Lake drive. There is even a short mountain trail (Cobble Hill Trail, 0.8 mi) just off of Mirror Lake Drive that my daughter and I hiked one early morning. Beautiful view at the top.

Fantastic stay

This place is terrific--friendly, accommodating staff, fantastic facilities (the pools, the kayaks and paddleboards on the lake). Great for a summer or winter getaway.

Great Views of Mirror Lake and Surrounding Hills

Easy check in. Nice clean room on the 4th floor overlooking the pool with views of mirror lake and surrounding hills. Loved the card access for parking and the convenience of the rooftop parking with direct access to the 4th floor. Nice large bath with rain shower head as well as hand held.

A wonderful place right on Mirror Lake.

Right on Mirror lake. With amenities that include complementary kayak and paddle. Excellent location in Lake Placid. Will return for sure.

Highly Recommend High Peaks Resort

The location was perfect. You had the lake and mountain views. You were right in town so you could walk to all the shops and restaurants. This prevented you from driving and having to pay for parking in town. You were centrally located to all the attractions of the Olympics, and trails. The hotel was nice and the staff were extremely friendly. They made a point to make contact with you every time you came through the lobby.

First time visitors to the area and we were very impressed. We arrived early and were checked in early by a very professional,friendly, helpful front desk agent. The room was on the ground floor with a walk out facing the pool and lake with 2 lawn chairs and small table. Cleaning staff friendly as was any staff we encountered. Would highly recommend!

We found some boogers on the sink when we entered our room. The A/C is terrible and loud. It was located directly above the bed and blew on us constantly. We woke up with sore throats. Other than that it's a nice hotel.
