We stay at this hotel several times a year on our way to Florida coming back from our hometown. The people that work there are Excellent considering they do not have much to work with. The "we are renovating" signs have been up for at least a year and I see not much difference. On this visit there was a trash bag over the ceiling by the elevators on the 4th floor. Cracked bathroom sink, the first elevator we used, dropped down a floor while we were on it, (scared me to death), then they stopped using it. The other elevator broke down right after that. The woman, I assume was a manager said they called the company about fixing it. I asked did you call yesterday when the first one broke I was told yes. The maintenance man fixed the most recent one, but no one ever showed up to fix the first one that broke. On 2 nights, we were told there is no bartender tonight. My husband killed a cockroach in the dining area during breakfast. There is nowhere except your room to watch TV. We were there during the hurricane and wanted to watch the TV to see how bad it was near our home in FL, so you were a prisoner in your room if you wanted to stay informed. There is a TV in the bar, but they do not open until 5 and it is locked under a pull down where the alcohol is. This could be a great place to stay if Hilton would maybe stay there and see what is wrong with the hotel. Again, thank you to all the people that work there for making it bearable. I could go on, but you get it.
