The Essex Inn is located on a beautiful, historic property. The small details and fantastic amenities--like a 24 hour "butler's pantry" stocked with coffee, tea, water, biscotti, popcorn, and more--really made the stay special. We are still talking about our breakfast of local eggs and bacon; warm, homemade apple spice cake; and poached pears with pecans grown right on the property. Amazing! Since we were traveling with pets, we stayed in one of the suites, which have an apartment feel. The main house seems to have rooms with more of a traditional B&B atmosphere. We are looking forward to staying again.
