It’s just okay.
There are limited options for accommodation in Boardman and this property is right along the river which is very pretty. The restaurant was the main reason for my rating. You’d think a hotel right on a major river would know how to prepare fish. I requested my salmon medium rare and it came out well done. The menu overall is more like bar food. For breakfast, there are no espresso options and I paid $14 for what amounted to a trough of oatmeal. It was very unpleasant.

Boardman OR is the half-way point for us when we travel to the Pacific coast. We like to spend the night at the River Lodge, because it is a charming hotel in a fabulous location right on the Columbia River.

It's right on the Columbia River and I think all the rooms are facing the river. It's quiet and rural-feeling. The restaurant was a disappointment. Mediocre food and limited menu for dinner. We did appreciate that one of the staff informed us at breakfast that they were very short-staffed and the wait would be long. Because we were in a hurry to check out, we thanked him and decided not to eat breakfast there. The breakfast menu did look better than the previous night's dinner menu.

The Lodge was very comfortable, big rooms were clean as well as up to date. The walking path along the river was beautiful. We did not get to use the hot tub because it was cold. Very disappointing since the hot tub was one reason we booked here. The pool looked a bit murky. Music in the restaurant was too loud (as with most restaurants any more). Food was descent.

Suprising gem in a small and odd town.
Great view, clean and large room that was comfortable. We are very happy with the hotel and the setup. Enjoyed ordering a drink from the taphouse on site and hitting the pool. Great hotel, we will be back. Only complaint is the pool needs more attention and the restaurant and tap house was very slow service. But convenient having that on site though so I will survive the slow service. I recommend staying here. We where very happy.
