Thunderbird Inn: A Soaring Stay with a Few Feather
We had an overall positive experience at the Thunderbird Inn. The staff and service were amazing, making our stay truly enjoyable. The convenience of being in downtown Savannah, with so many attractions within walking distance, was the main reason we chose this location. If I had any complaints, it would be that the inn could use some touch-ups, and the cleanliness of the rooms could be slightly improved. However, these minor issues wouldn’t prevent me from staying there again. A great choice for anyone visiting Savannah!

Cool retro place but could use some TLC
Very cool retro place in excellent location for enjoying downtown Savannah. We were attracted by the pet friendly designation, but between the $50 pet fee and a $20 parking fee, the rate became quite expensive for a basic old fashioned motel that’s been dressed up with bright paint and piped in rock and roll music. Some maintenance issues. Floor lamp and in room coffee maker didn’t work. Morning donuts and coffee were excellent. They need to repair their iconic neon sign. It was mostly dark the night we stayed. We tried to rebook a night for our return stopover 2 weeks out, but they wanted to jack the rate by more than $100. $300+ just too much for the quality of stay.

Love the Hippie Vibe!
Such a fun and cheerful place, love the retro hippie vibe. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The lobby is a fun place with fresh popcorn, donuts, coffee fresh lemonade and juice. There are fun souvenirs for purchase as well. One of our favorite things was the dog treat and dog tag special for our pup. It’s in a nice location close to everything and easy to navigate to and from. There is a lot of street traffic so if that’s something you’re not used to it may be bothersome but that’s to be expected considering it’s right off the street.

We loved this hotel.
Overall it was a great stay and we loved the retro style of the hotel. My only minor complaint is that the water pressure wasn't consistent and would fluctuate between perfect and mediocre.
