We travel a lot and we have never been treated as poorly! The room was not what we had booked, we booked the Dominican and were put in the Jamaican, the lady at checkin refused to even consider there was a mistake, said she actually could not even find we had ever stayed there before. It took a manager to come and find our reservation who still refused to correct the issue so we ultimately decided to accept the room and move forward. We got to the room the AC was broken, running extremely loud, pieces of plaster literally falling off the ceiling and just all around unclean with a foul odor. Then it basically took an act of congress to be moved to another room (which was still not what we had originally booked). Then low and behold we went into the second room the bed was unmade with hair in it, no pillow cases and the bathroom had not even been cleaned urine was still in the commode!!! Went back to the front desk with pictures and videos of both situations and we were given the option to pay $587 more for 3 nights to be moved to the original room type we had booked or forfeit the one night stay and get a partial refund! I MEAN SERIOUSLY!!! We opted to forfeit and leave, mind you 8 hours away from home Labor Day weekend and were treated so rudely we chose to leave and take our chances elsewhere! The question is Will the money they lose from my family effect them in any way.. ABSOLUTELY NOT! However hopefully this review can help someone else from being stuck in our situation!
