This just had a weird vibe to it, although it wasn't bad once I got into the room. Two broken down cars out front being repaired, a reception desk with no sign of any staff (but they were friendly and helpful once I got them on the phone), a motorbike above the front door, a faint smell (maybe cigarette smoke?) in the hallway but all OK inside the room. The floor is lino (fake wood panelling) not carpet, and wasn't the cleanest. There's plenty of space, with sort of a walk-in closet for storing clothes. The place generally feels friendly but a little bit run down.
I had a scary moment being trapped in the bathroom with a malfunctioning door handle, and had to kick the door quite hard to get it open. When I reported it to the manager, he was very apologetic and promised to get it fixed right away, so hopefully it's all good by the time you're reading this.
The location is good, at the south end of town, a bit quieter than the centre but still convenient for shops and cafes. There are complimentary copies of the "Moab Happenings" newspaper in the foyer. Pick one up: there's more happening in Moab than I expected!
