Affordable and Conveniently Located

The room had some mileage. It looked like the bathtub caulk was wearing out. The hot water didn't last very long. The toilet had a tendency to run because the internal tank hardware needs replacing. And the bathroom doorstop was a toe stubbing hazard (they really should've gone for the hinge door stop, given the room layout). That said, the staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was cozy and comfortable. If you just need a place to sleep while visiting Kalamazoo, it's a good choice.

Bad Choice for NHRA Weekend

Where to start...we happened to book this room on the same weekend as the NHRA auto show weekend. Made parking the first night tight, but with the hundreds of people that overtook the area Friday and Saturday night, actual hotel patrons could not access the hotel parking, and the crowd that had assembled just overran the whole area. We wore socks in our room that turn black on the bottoms after an hour or two due to the dirty carpeting. Bathtub shower VERY slippery, no hand assist bars - be careful! Whole property needs updating. Breakfast: so-so, powdered eggs and sausage or waffles every morning, no oatmeal. Fitness area was poor, treadmills unusable or non functional, carpeting filthy. Young lady at desk was sincerely apologetic, but thst's where the hospitality ended. Will be back to Kalamazoo, but will search for better accomodations.

It was a living nightmare. Cars burning out in the parking lot and bumping music super late, the pool was interesting, and the chairs in my room were stained. It also smelled funny.

Overall Disappointed

Lobby/breakfast area was clean. Carpeting in my room was sticky through out the room. Desk chairs were covered in unknown stains. Both the carpeting and chairs were in desperate need of shampooing. Attempted to use the pool area with my grand-daughter. Left because the pool walls were dirty. Grab bars leading into the pool were loose and wobbly where they connected to the floor. Paint on the pool deck was peeling and chipping.

They were able to accommodate us at the last minute for a week stay. The hotel is dated but clean and the staff is excellent! Good breakfast in the morning. Definitely would stay again.

It’s not in a very nice area of town. Has kind of turned into a scary neighborhood, especially at night. Noisy cars and motorcycles on the side, facing the highway from either guests or transients behind the building during the night.

Ok for sleepy a night and leaving

The staff we friendly and accommodating . Definitely needs updating. When we got to our room . There was no nob to turn on the shower on . A maintenance man was on the floor within minutes to apply a nob . But i could spit harder than the shower water pressure. Me and my husband didn't bother to call we just laughed about it. The parking lot always had shady people walking through, i think the area around it is not the safest. Definitely stay away from the Dennys acrossed the street. The bed was worn but clean. Location is the best part very closed to everything. Pool needs a major updating. Cracking paint i didn't even go in it was so worn out. Gym was good. Breakfast was good only 1 waffle maker , makes for a long wait time.

When you walk into lobby, place looks decent but had a cat on counters and tables where breakfast is eaten or served Carpeting was filthy and spotted a couple of roaches in our rooms. Had to request housekeeping on 3rd day and no one to change my bed when I got sick in it. Grandson had reserved a room but refused to stay whe he spotted roaches in 2 rooms he was given.

The hotel staff was lovely and gave me a ground floor room close to an external door, so it was easy to take our dog out for potty breaks. The room was clean and the air conditioner was phenomenal, but the carpet could have been cleaner. Pool was clean and functional with fresh towels available. Breakfast was fantastic - eggs, sausage, hash browns - and staff made sure everything was fresh and replenished. For those traveling alone, there seems to be a large transient population in this area of town. My husband came out with me to walk the dog.
