Check-in was fast and the staff were friendly. The room was spacious, but one curtain didn’t close properly, and the air conditioning turned on by itself at 4:30 AM even though we had switched it off. The TV was small and not a Smart TV (no streaming, no Wi-Fi connection), and the phone looked like it hadn’t been replaced in 20+ years.
The wardrobe was tiny, only one set of towels was provided for two people, and the toiletries came in very small bottles that needed constant replacement. The hallway carpets were visibly worn and dirty. The bathroom was clean, but basic.
Breakfast was the worst of our 8-day trip through Italy (in five 4-star hotels): limited in both quantity and quality. One example: the only oil for bread was a sweet salad dressing sachet, not proper olive oil.
We were also woken up at 8:00 AM by construction work inside the hotel — in August. Absolutely unacceptable in a supposed 4-star property.
The hotel is located about a 15–20 minute walk from Verona’s centre, which isn’t ideal unless you have a car. The free indoor parking is a strong positive. The lobby is spacious and well equipped, but not as elegant as the photos suggest.
In the end, this is not a horrible hotel, but it falls short in too many areas. It feels closer to a 3-star and does not deliver the standard expected of a 4-star stay.
