The location and cleanliness of the room were excellent. As is typical of the Room Mates chain, the room was smartly decorated, allowing it to be small without feeling cramped for one person. In room amenities were limited but fine: towels, minibar, desk, ironing-board and safe, kettle with instant coffee and tea, and a pre-filled bottle of tap water. There was also a shower cap, shoe polishing kit, and note to call reception if you need anything else. I could have done with a box of tissues, but not enough to bother calling down for them.
There’s not a separate bathroom, but rather a closet for the toilet and another for the shower. Totally fine for a solo traveler, but perhaps something to note if
Here are the details that keep me from giving the place perfect marks: no ground floor lobby (there is a 24h doorman, but check in etc are on the 9th floor), slow elevators, construction next door (minimally annoying during the day, complete non-issue at night), and a mixup with late checkout where they turned off my key prematurely and made me go up to the ninth floor and close out my bill before letting me back into my room (which was particularly annoying because there’s an hourly charge for late checkout and this ate into the late checkout time I had planned on).
