Very poor customer service here. Had a one night reservation made through Hotels.com. Checked in on the night I was supposed to arrive signed and paid for my one night reservation, checked out as scheduled. When I arrived home the next day I discovered I had been charged a second time for a second night, due to an error made by hotels.com. I called immediately upon discovering this error only to be told to got to hotels.com. The chatbots at hotels.com referred me back to the Village Inn. When I spoke to them a second time the clerk told me that the person who checked me in LIED and said they confirmed a second night. This is absolutely not true as i would have spoken up then. I signed for, was charged and paid for the one night I reserved, because of their antiquated systems I was not provided a receipt for my stay (so I can't disprove their claim with my bank) nor has the deposit been refunded. Both times I called staff was dismissive and rude. Essentially I paid $600 for one night in a dirty room that smelled vaguely of smoke and mildew, had uncomfortable beds with not enough covers, paper thin walls, zero amenities. Quite frankly a terrible experience overall.

We often stay here and OUR big draw is to the courtyard with the fountain in the middle. Great place to hang out at the end of the day before turning in for the night.

A comfortable stay with neighborhood options.

This is a nice, low cost option. For a business trip, I often leave ok for clean cheap accommodations. I do not receive a large stipend for overnight travels. Village Inn is very close to a grocery store, fine dinning, and a freeway for ease of travel(not to close that it is noisy).

There’s better places. Cheap was the best thing.

Check in was a challenge as the door keys are weird. Green lights mean go but not here. You have to wait until you hear a noise & then can open the door. The pet deposit was $50 so not bad for 2 dogs & it was refundable. The pet friendly rooms have indoor outdoor carpeting which I didn’t like. It was frayed along the middle of the floor & I’m not sure how well it can be cleaned. The pet friendly rooms are on the busy street side so expect loud street noise until about midnight. And there’s a weird gambling/lottery thing next to the bank right next door & a lot of sketchy people hang out in the parking lot. People also walk across the parking lot to let their dogs use the bathroom. So expect the sketchy people to be outside your door & greet you. I mentioned it to management the following morning because the one woman was harassing me while I was walking to my truck. You can’t avoid them. I told the front desk when I checked out & while she could see her on camera there was no sound & she said they walk over from the gambling business but don’t do anything about it. While the room appeared clean there were some type of tiny bugs that turned up when I made coffee. Not on the pot but on a hand towel. The day front desk person has family that come & hang out with her which is fine except they let a toddler walk wherever they want. I had to dodge it in the parking lot when it came out of no where & ran in front of my truck. Also they let it play in the front door & desk.

Perfect weekend gem

Beautifully maintained and very comfortable. Staff was amazing and friendly and fun to have morning coffee with. Few little quirks, but considering the she of the establishment, very much worth it. Just don't feed the squirrels
