We have stayed at this hotel many times over the years and it has always been our go-to choice in the area.
Unfortunately, the condition of the hotel has seriously deteriorated in the last few years.
While the folks we dealt with were friendly, we were initially assigned a room that wasn’t cleaned. We were given another room on a floor where construction was being done (we hadn’t seen anything telling us the hotel was being renovated) and there were areas that had bare concrete (no flooring, tile or carpet had been removed).
The room itself had been cleaned, but was in very poor condition as well. Rusty mirrors, moldy(?) shower door corners, tired furniture, etc. The room also had about 1/3 roll of TP, only two towels, and no extra blankets - just a sheet and very thin comforter.
There was also no ice or vending on our floor so we had to go down two flights for any amenities/snacks/ice. This hotel seems grossly understaffed; I overheard the lady at the front desk tell another customer that she had worked 19 hours the previous day because they didn’t have enough staff.
I will say the beds continue to be the most comfortable in the area, although the pillows are very thin and worn.
The IHOP next door is very good for breakfast, and there are many other restaurants and retail spots within 5 minutes.
Hopefully this hotel returns to its previous form after renovations have been completed, but I don’t recommend it at this time.
