Great hotel for overnight stay for a local concert. Bed was comfortable. Only issue was noise. You could hear everything outside your door or next door. Other than that the property is pretty cool. Plus free breakfast! Yum!

Wonderful historical grand hotel! We’ll be back!
Absolutely loved this hotel! The historical grandeur was apparent from the moment we drove up, from the beautiful architecture and design to the friendly and professional desk staff, to the upkeep and cleanliness of the entire building, to the amenities offered. The lounge offered good food & drinks for an evening snack, the hot tub and sauna were wonderfully relaxing at the end of the day, the room was the most comfortable we’ve had in our month of traveling - spacious, comfortable bed, no noisy heating/AC unit, water pressure & temps consistent…everything was top notch. The only area where I see room for improvement is in the taste of the water - it had a moldy taste to me (altho my husband hardly noticed it.) Might be the municipality’s water supply, with different minerals than the water I’m accustomed to, but I feel that a water purification system would definitely benefit the hotel. We will still return again, and bring bottled water with us, because this hotel is a unique place that beckons a return visit - it’s the perfect place for a relaxing respite or a special occasion getaway! Highly recommend!

Charming but Old
The staff was excellent! It was a vibe and the lobby area was especially fun, with a working fountain and lots of ornate furniture. The pool looked great but we didn't use it. Our room was pretty small and it's all clearly dated. Complimentary breakfast was very underwhelming - not much to choose from. Oh, and the water tastes TERRIBLE. I didn't want to shower, let alone brush my teeth or drink their coffee.

I have gotten in the habit of using your facility when I come to visit my freshman student at ISU. i was down for the one night stay last Sunday. I arrived in town about 12:30 after my solo drive down. I stopped to see if by any chance there was a room avaiable. I had some issues with my blood sugar on the way down and wanted to do some testing and remedy the situation with medication. The desk clerk was very nice, as I have found to be true at your hotel in the past. She said she had rooms available But that I had to pay an extra 20 dollars. I was a little surprised but said yes as I did not want to deal with my testing in a public place. I understand fully that 3:00 pm is check in time but I also remember coming for a stay in the where there was a wedding and waited for an extra hour and a half and as the lobby was overflowing with guests. Breakfast was not an option as the large group simply overwhelmed the breakfast staff and supplies. Things happen and it has definately has it deterred me from returning. I left this past Monday morning 2 hours before check in and as always sought out the cleaning people to let them know I Was checking out do they could get an early start. I will be returning it just making sure I do not arrive early. I like to establish a relationship with The businesses in Bloomington/Normal as MY freshman has three plus more years and our family comes down a lot

The good things supercede the bad
Renovated part of the hotel, very clean, and nice room, 2 things that stood out, the Noise from the hallway was very noticable, theres a gap on the room door, it was not sealed to the hallway, breakfast was served from 7- 10 but they ran out of breakfast by 8:30am.
