Der Check-in war freundlich, leider endete der positive Eindruck sofort beim Betreten des Apartments. Es herrschte ein sehr unangenehmer Geruch, das gesamte Zimmer war alt, abgewohnt und stark verschmutzt. Der Teppich war so versifft, dass weiße Socken nach wenigen Minuten schwarz waren. Der Boden war dreckig, offensichtlich wurde weder gesaugt noch gewischt. Das Sofa war stark durchgesessen und unappetitlich. Das Badezimmer war bei Ankunft nicht sauber: Haare der Vorgäste in der Dusche, sogar bis hoch an die Duschdecke. Im Waschbecken waren Abfluss und Überlauf voller alter, festklebender Haare und Schmutz. Eine Fliese war bereits gebrochen. In der Küche waren Herd, Mikrowelle (innen und außen), Kühlschrank, Spülmaschine sowie das wenige vorhandene Geschirr stark verschmutzt. Auch das Bügeleisen war völlig verdreckt. Zusätzlich gab es Flecken an den Wänden sowie schmutzige Fenster mit toten Insekten. Besonders erschreckend: Blut an Bettwäsche und Decke. Trotz schriftlichem Hinweis wurde das Bett nicht gewechselt. Laut Housekeeping-Hinweis sollten bei mehrtägigen Aufenthalten regelmäßige Reinigungen erfolgen. Wir waren eine Woche dort – das Zimmer wurde kein einziges Mal gereinigt. Trotz dreimaliger Nachfrage wurden erst nach fünf Tagen einmal die Handtücher gewechselt. Zusätzlich war das Apartment extrem hellhörig und lag direkt an einer lauten Lüftungsanlage, die die ganze Nacht lief. Ich habe mich noch nie so unwohl in einem Hotel oder Apartment gefühlt.

Big room with full kitchen (full fridge, dishwasher and stovetop) and all cookware and silverware. Large sitting area and desk and breakfast bar. Comfortable bed, plenty of natural light. Complex felt safe and plenty of light in parking areas. Our room was quiet. Full size shampoo, conditioner and body wash in shower (our body wash was completely empty though). Large breakfast buffet. Oatmeal and topping bar, eggs, 2 kinds of sausage, potatos, assorted breads and pastries, waffle maker, fresh fruit.

We stayed here while traveling to Cleveland for a week with our 2 cats. The suite was large and comfortable. It was clean but showing wear and tear. Stains on the couch and the carpet was wrinkled. The floor in the kitchen was very sticky. Our biggest complaint was that house keeping did not come for a refresh when scheduled or when requested. I had to go to the office to get more towels, trash bags and coffee pods. The property out side was very nice, quiet and felt very safe. For the price we would stay again but not exceptional.

Not ideal for solo female

Didn’t like that after you check in have to go back outside & walk to another building to find your room, mine was on ground floor, anyone could follow me, 2 big windows on ground too, when walked out my door anyone could be waiting outside. Had to walk back to lobby to meet Grubhub food delivery person. Wouldn’t stay here again.

Nice hotel with unprofessional & bitter experience

Had a very disappointing experience at Residence Inn Cleveland Independence. Upon check-in at around 7:30 PM, was informed at the front desk that my reservation could not be honored and has been relocated. No prior email or call was given prior. Upon checking the alternatie accomodation, it was a much much lower-quality hotel: old, noisy, poorly rated, and without breakfast that was included in my original booking. When concerns were raised, they offered reward points instead and no proper adjustment in pricing for being re-accommodated in a cheaper hotel. Finally, after insisting, was able to negotiate to check back in next day. Have never had experienced such an unprofessional handling. If I wanted a budget hotel, I would have booked one myself. Marriott should not operate in a way that charges guests for a premium stay and then shuffles them to lower-rated properties without notice. This was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve had. For some nice words, the rooms were excellent, very clean, spacious and very much comfortable.

It should be noted that the property also serves as a homeless shelter. Housekeeping was terrible and my room was not fully cleaned although I was assigned that room at check in. I was there for 12 days and breakfast was either an omelet or scrambled egg. No variety. People came to breakfast with shopping bags and filled them as if they were in a supermarket. Plates, utensils, milk, bread, fruit etc. rooms are totally dated and need an update as carpets are stained, appliances are rusty. Front desk staff were great and tried to be helpful so I can not take that away. I would not stay here again if in the area.
