We have stayed here several times and never had any bad experience. But this time our room was nasty. The carpet was sticky feeling and when my hisband would walk barefoot on it he would have to wash his feet before putting his shoes on. The walls were nasty. When we went to take a shower, when the water hit the shower curtain nothing but black water drained down. The water was pure black from the curtain. The toilet parr holder come out of the wall and wouldnt stay in the wall you had to hold it as you grabbed the toilet paper. The staff has always been nice and friendly. But this property needs their rooms to have a deep cleaning. Sorry to say this is probably the last time we will stay there.

Nice little motel with friendly staff and check-in. Paintsville is a lovely little town, but like much of the U.S. in the mid 2020s, homelessness is an issue here. There were a number of people in great need of help who seemed to live on the streets near this property. I experienced no trouble, but I can see how some people might feel uncomfortable in this neighborhood.

Bugs and dirty
The first room they put us in had roaches. They moved us to a new room. The carpet was damp and dirty. We noticed later that the first room was occupied. They put guests in the room with roaches!

The beds were comfortable. The AC works well. The shower was clean and had ample hot water. The carpets were dingy and sticky. You can tell they haven't been steam cleaned in a long time.And they have some very large cockroaches!!

Air conditioner was loud kicking on and off. Had to turn it off just to try to sleep. There was a cigarette burn in our sheet. Overall it did the job and we had a place to sleep, and was clean for the most part. Just a little rougher of a hotel than we expected.

The carpet is in major need of shampooing. Although swept nicely, my todlers feet was black in no time after bathing and my white socks were black on the bottoms of them. Otherwise, it was the room was clean.

Should have just slept in my car...
This place is in desperate need of updating and maintenance. Cleanliness was rough. Could definitely use fresh paint, new floor coverings and the TV either needed to be replaced or have the color recalibrated if possible. There were people who had BBQ grills set up outside of their rooms which just seemed kinda weird. The room I stayed in smelled like some really nasty skunk weed. Might have been my room or perhaps an adjacent room leaching over. I'll probably look at staying at the Jenny Wiley Lodge or the competitor hotel downtown just across the bridge.

They are very very bad .
The owners were rude and hateful. Also we were there maybe 20 minutes and the owner got mad cause under age siblings got in the pool and the guy said guests could not use the pool . Then he kicked us out was supposed to give a refund but took the money back out of our account and we are dispute the charges now . Charged us $500. And did not even stay one night.

This hotel has an older feel to it but was clean with friendly staff. It was well worth the stay with a lower nightly fee than others in the area, so I was a little concerned but it was a great stay for the money, more than I expected. The rooms are well insulated, so we didn't hear any other people coming or leaving or any traffic sounds which was really nice. The sheets and bedding were clean. The only drawback we saw and the only reason for not rating the 5 stars was the questionable state of the carpeting. It was old and worn, leaving us to be afraid to walk without shoes/slippers. I am not saying it wasn't clean because you couldn't tell if it was or not (It was a dark color) We would stay again.

Exactly what I needed
This hotel provides reasonably priced, comfortable, clean lodging. This was exactly what I needed. It was quite, considering it was next to a high traffic road. Friendly staff as well. 5 stars!
