The property is tucked into an alley in a so-so area, but once in this small hotel, you discover that it’s a quiet little gem.
The staff was extremely helpful.

Hotel had an unpleasant odour in reception area which was also present in the rooms. It did not appear that we were expected and another member of staff/owner? was called in to assist. We were shown several rooms and told to make our choice. We had a ground floor room with no window and our friends one on the first floor. The room smelled of mothballs and urinal cakes. It was damp as was the one towel in the wet-room. New towels were supplied on request. The shower had to be heated before each use and could only cope with one short use before needing another twenty minutes to heat up again. The boiler had to be reset by staff three days on the run as it would not turn on in the room. Keeping the extractor fan on for several hours after a shower appeared to solve the damp issue. The bed was large but the mattress was extremely hard with no give in it at all. We both slept poorly despite being exhausted. The room was not cleaned nor the beds made or changed during the four night stay. The wardrobe stank of mothballs. Staff members were indifferent to polite requests and no breakfast was forthcoming on any morning. No reduction was given as the breakfast was “free”. The hotel is located on a back alley which was dirty and uneven. This is not always a reflection on the hotel as we have stayed in others that have been in such places but have been good hotels none the less. This hotel is in need of an upgrade and a good clean if it is to attract and keep Western clientele.
