Fort York National Historic Site is an early 19th-century military fort and designated site of historical importance in Toronto, Canada. Restored to the closest state of authenticity possible in 1934, the site then became a museum preserving the history of the War of 1812 and military life in Canada.
The main entrance of the Fort York Visitor Centre is 27,000 sq. ft. with monolithic weathering steel panels, designed for protection against the position of the Lake Ontario shoreline at the time. The interior circulates visitors through its expansive exhibits with a ramp, by glass walls for easier viewing of the museum.
