Let me preface this by saying this is not the worst place I've stayed in Ocean City. Only based on my room there is much work that needs to be done. Let's start with the cons. Property lists free wi-fi. Not only could I not connect to wifi, Surf Inn's network never appeared on my list of available networks. I did bring this to the attention to the front desk staff and all he could offer was to tell me to turn my laptop off and on. Needless to say I was disconnected all weekend. Other issues include only one of the burners on the 2 burner stove worked, the exhaust fan in the bathroom is actually hanging down from the ceiling and also inoperable, the toilet apparently is not connected to the flange tightly because it moves quite a bit when you go to sit down. The carafe for the coffee maker isn't the correct one and doesn't fit properly in the coffee maker. Place has an issue with these small gnat like flies. I'd swat a couple and more just seemed to pop up out of nowhere. On the plus side. The young man at the front desk is very friendly and courteous. The room is very spacious. This is an older motel and I bet in its hey day this was a place people flocked to. It's off season so pool was closed but the pool area looked very nice. It's only a short walk to the beach and there are plenty of places to eat nearby. I really believe with a little TLC this place could be a real gem again. I give it 3/5 stars. The price was reasonable, I'd give it another chance.

The first set of stairs going up the side of the hotel, by the office has a hump at the top which can be a tripping hazard for people. Big thing here though- people were screaming and yelling having parties at 3am when trying to sleep with no staff or anyone there to tell them to shut up so people can get up the next morning to drive home. If it kept going cops wouldve been called.

It’s very old so it has all the usual things that come along with being that old- mildew in the corners, smells of mold, toilet wiggles. 70’s decor w/no blankets just the bedspread which is thin, coffee pot has a glass carafe with no top but we used it anyway. The price was right for a last minute trip and we’re adventurous. It’s right by the ocean which is nice. Plenty places to eat in walking distance, plenty of parking, bus picks up out front. The staff was absolutely the best part- kind, helpful, funny & friendly.
