Great value in Cozumel!
We spent a week in Cozumel at Iberostar. We decided to stay a few extra days, so we booked two nights at El Cid. Wow, what a difference in the room quality - we were blown away at how much nicer the room was for 1/3 of the Iberostar price. The service and food were excellent too. Our only complaint was that the check-in process was a little inefficient. We are going back in two months!

Las habitaciones no son como las muestran, se solicitó una habitación con cama queen y un sofá coma como muestran y al ingresar al cuarto nos asignaron una habitación que solo contaba con un sofá cama. Se nos hizo al cambio de habitación hasta el día siguiente. Utilizamos el servicio de lavandería y dañaron la prenda.

Instalaciones viejas y políticas cerradas
Habitaciones e instalaciones viejas, la habitación tenía olor a humedad, reservamos con una cama Queen y nos dieron primero con dos matrimoniales, si contratan todo incluído tener en cuenta que el día del check out te sacan del hotel a las 12 a menos que pagues más para quedarte a comer o tomar algo o incluso proporcionar toallas para la alberca, normalmente otros hoteles permiten que te quedes un rato más a almorzar o hacer tiempo, así que tener en cuenta esto por si el vuelo de regreso es tarde ya no se podrán quedar en las instalaciones a menos que sea sentados en el lobby o tienen que pagar más

At first, I didn't think my friends and I would like that there aren't sailboats, paddle boards, etc, but the snorkeling made up for it. We enjoyed watching the cruise ships coming/going. Much smaller hotel than we've stayed at before, but we really liked the more personal feel from the staff. I had seen reviews about the noise from construction. That is only during the day, and we didn't hear it on the beach or restaurant. We will definitely return

What makes El CID so wonderful is the staff! Everyone is very accommodating, smiling and thoughtful. From Roger in entertainment, Ari, who greets you at the door every day, Waitstaff, Wendy times two, Juan, Alberto, bartenders Erik and Ernesto. Yes, it is a smaller resort, but that’s what we like about it. Very clean and convenient to shopping by just walking. Watching the cruise ships come in and out was incredible. The grounds are immaculate. The food and drinks were awesome. Thank you El cid For a wonderful stay! We will be back next year for sure!

I'm hoping to leave a helpful honest review to help any of those considering this property. I'd start by saying that an overall rating of around 7-8/ 10 is pretty accurate for this resort. I would also comment that this one falls a bit under the "you get what you pay for" category. From the time we arrived and any questions we had, the staff was extremely helpful and willing to answer for us. They were very eager to help in any way if asked. My tip for this resort however would be that some sort of map or better source of information would help today's modern traveler who just wants to be able to find the information instead of having to call or go to front desk to answer every question. It was hard to find where the work out area was, what events were happening, what the restaurant serves, what the room service menu was.....etc. As for food. I know this is always controversial on reviews. Honestly, I would say it was overall good. Nothing blew me away and there were definitely dishes that were quite bland but if the main goal is not to cook, there was plenty to keep us fed and happy. We did have the all inclusive package so snacks and drinks were included. Only 1 restaurant and it did change menu some. All inclusive didn't include the best dishes however. Also, nothing was stocked in the room fridge including water. There was a full kitchenette. If view is important, all you see is cruise ships all day.

Roger, the entertainment concierge, is totally awesome. He made our stay exceptional. Victor is a superb waiter and always went out of his way to make sure we had what we wanted. One of our party left their phone in a cab and the staff worked relentlessly to retrieve it. It was returned to us the very same day! Can’t ask for more friendly, helpful staff who actually seem to like their jobs

For travelers who like to snorkel or dive, right at the property, this is the place. Crystal clear waters and sea life is abundant. For just relaxing, the staff is wonderful. Friendly, caring and wanting to help. Roger Lopez keeps you happy, with conversation and activities. He’s the best! Victor waiter in the dining area is excellent. Never misses a thing and is always smiling. Seriously, we’ve never been to a greater place! Clean, friendly, great food and drinks! Plenty to do and plenty of rest if you do not want to do anything. If there is a complaint, it would be the day passes to the Cruise Ship passengers. They come in and take over the beach chairs and pool, which should be for the hotel guests.

Fascinada con este hotel!!! Fuimos plan todo incluido élite y jamás tuvimos un mayordomo, batas, pantuflas así como nos marcaba nuestra reservación , en la página simulan tener un restaurante trattoria cocina italiana cosa que realmente es el mismo restaurante que ocupan para todo, solo que para cena y en ciertos días cambian de tema.. el servicio es lento en área de playa y alberca.
