Great family trip
We went here on the recommendation of others. Service was great and it was definitely a lot of fun for the kids. The splash pad and slide for our three and six year-old were fantastic. The place is a bit dated, but it looks as though they’re trying to do some renovations. Our room was a bit Moldy, smelling or mildew and we asked for a change, but they were completely booked so that was not possible. My wife did get to go to the spa one day and raved about it. For no inclusive resort, the food was very good. It was fresh and the buffet was predictable. We did have a chance to eat at four of the restaurants all of which were really good with the exception of the Asian restaurant took way too long for service, which was a shame because the food was good For the price point it wasn’t a bad deal.

Our Flair82616 was late for 4 hours, I called front desk to reported the late arrival . We booked presidential ocean view suite for four people. But when my family arrived in midnight , they gave us a bigger room with jungle view without explanation. only one king bed, sofa bed is empty, no mattress, no bedding sheet, I called over 6 times and waited for another 3 hours to get everything for sleep. The second morning, we found the room is jungle view with smelly dead water puddle under the balcony, lots of misquotes. We waited another 3 hours in front desk yo ask a change, finally they agree to change a pool view on the third night , but when we returned from XCaret to the new room at 10:00 pm, same thing happened, no bedding in Sofa bed, I called over 10 times, that made us dipper exhausted and upset, finally my husband went to a housekeeping cart to grab bedding sheets, it was 1:30 am already. Very mess management, they treat customers so reckless, looked nice smiling face, but so careless and impatient, not professional at all. the house keeping and front desk service ruined all our 5 days staying. I will never , ever live there again.

Guest treatment and follow up could improve
This is not our first time to Royalton but this time guest services/reception service was very poor. I guess they only cater to diamond club guests, and treat others like (nothing). Although I must say that cleaning staff, and servers etc were very nice. I left my Gucci sunglasses at the gym and had to go maybe 10 times to guest services, security, and front desk and still didn’t get any follow up. They give you diff stories each time. Was left without glasses in this sun for pretty my 80% of my trip. Agreed, I should have left it as the gym. But they were not helpful at all.

Property is beautiful! They were doing construction on one of the pools and throughout the resort. The one on the pool I barely noticed because there are so many places to swim. Loved the staff. Very easy mindless and relaxing vacation. Highly recommend the upgrade to diamond club.

Expedia failed me on this reservation and I'll probably never book with Expedia or Travelocity again!! The hotel is going under renovations and I was placed on a section being worked on.. asked to be moved, the hotel failed me, went to Expedia where I booked and they were no help neither..

Went for a wedding and had a terrible experience. We booked diamond club and had a butler whom we met upon arrival, tipped, and then never saw or heard from him again. Our dinner reservations were messed up and no one cared to reconcile that. The food was barely edible and the drinks were terribly watered down - that included the diamond club bars. The rooms are not cleaned well. One guest from the wedding party had bed bugs in her room and the hotel staff still didn’t want to change her room. The hotel is large and confusing to navigate. There’s no waiter service by the bars, including the diamond club bar. You have to go order more drinks, no one cares to come around. The towels and beach chairs are absolutely filthy. The pools are not cleaned regularly. Absolutely terrible - would give zero stars if I could… strongly recommend NOT staying at the Royalton Riviera.

I do not understand how this is a 5 star resort. We came here for a family wedding. Upon arrival our bed had big brown stain on the sheets and the pillows had black stains on it. The room smelled like sewage and was disgusting. Similar problems happened with multiple people The steamer had mold on it The walls and closets had so much dirt around the corners it was uncomfortable. The towel when they changed it had red blood stains on it!! The food was limited and not good The buffet had a really bad sewage smell The drinks did not have any alcohol in it severely watered down Only good thing was the pool Never coming here again

I paid for a presidential suite and received a down graded room less than what I paid for. I succeed at the resort at 1:30 pm when I finally got checked in good the wrong room it was 4:30pm. Once I complained about the down graded room I had to wait an additional 3 hours to get still what I did not pay for but I was an upgrade from the down grade. The room we were given given, was dirty with blood in bathroom wall, dirty bath tub, dirty counter top and alcoholic beverages open and left from previous guest. Sofa bed mattress was so rusted underneath it had a hole in it and this is where my daughter was sleeping. They could not give a new mattress until the next day until then we need additional blankets and sheets and when requested we received those hours later which means we had to stay up later after an exhausting day. This stay was horrible and Expedia offered something and I paid for something I did not receive.
