Not A "Luxury" Hotel - Watch Out
I think this used to be a very nice hotel and the management has started to ignore it.
For reference, I have 15 years living in Costa Rica.
Upon arrival, there was a VERY nice guy named Francisco that helped us check-in. However, upon walking into the lobby, it became apparent that the establishment was severely understaffed.
We went to the room, changed, and immediately came down for a drink. First cocktail took 35 minutes because Francisco had WAY too much to do.
At dinner, 45 mintues to get food. Two plates, very good. Tuna tartar we stopped eating because we thought the fish might be bad.
We stayed in room #2. Mattress springs completely shot. Pillows super lumpy. Great shower and nice balcony.
While everything was super busy and Francisco was being overworked, there was a "manager" sitting at a computer the entire time we could see from our table in the restaurant. I found out who they were because I asked Francisco.
We were told breakfast was at 6:30. When we came down at 6:25, there was Francisco. I asked "How long for breakfast?" and he replied "20 minutes if you want fruit - longer for pinto."
Give me a break management!
Not a luxury hotel by any stretch.
