My stay at The Reef was merely okay, but the cost was far too high for the level of service provided. The service was very poor and fell far short of the 4 or 5-star experience I have come to expect from hotels of this caliber. The most unpleasant part of my stay was the check-out process. I was charged $250 for a no-show at one of the property's restaurants, despite having canceled the reservation with guest services in advance. The attendant at the concierge desk was extremely unfriendly and insisted that I had not canceled, as if I were lying. They also prevented me from speaking to a manager, stating that one was not available. There are many other good hotels in Nassau that likely offer better service and more well-trained staff. I would recommend considering these alternatives for a more pleasant and value-for-money experience.

Be aware of what you are booking and where.
The room I booked showed a balcony overlooking the water from a high floor. The hotel does not have balconies over the 3rd floor. It was a large display of scamming someone. I did not have my room cleaned for two days. I spent $40,000 with Hotels.com on this trip. I will never use this company to book again and not stay at the Reef again.

O Reef e o Cove ficam um pouco afastados do Royal e Coral. O Reef possui uma piscina própria, muito boa e uma praia bem a frente. Algumas pedras mas no lado direito é muito bom de entrar na água. Possui uma loja de conveniência e um Starbucks. Para os restaurantes, pegávamos o ônibus pra Marina Village, bem eficiente.

Atlantis has always been our dream and we (2 adults and 2 children) were really looking forward to our stay there. The hotel (The Reef) is clean but bears visible signs of time. The room with a double bed and a sofa bed was sufficient for us. There is a small kitchenette in the room which is fully equipped. In general, at first glance everything is fine, BUT... The Reef does not have a restaurant where you can have a simple and uncomplicated meal. There is only a Starbucks coffee shop and a small store where you can buy the essentials (at totally exorbitant prices - but I don't have to write that, do I?). And so, if a family wants to have breakfast, they have to go to the neighboring Royal and have breakfast there at the breakfast buffet for a whopping USD 39.99 per adult. In general, the food there was the biggest problem for our family. Our children don't understand that relaxation at Atlantis is of secondary importance and is completely subordinate to the food cult. Our children had a lot of fun at the hotel swimming pools and slides. The beach is beautiful even if a little rocky. There are plenty of sun loungers on the beach. Bahamas has culturally adopted everything from America, and what is very annoying is that tipping is expected at every turn and everywhere - even at Starbucks! Bottom line - we would not recommend this hotel to families with children unless you like to deal with meal planning on vacation. Even if the children are older, we will not return.

Hard review for me. It was the most beautiful property I’ve been to and the locals around the Bahamas and Atlantis are by far the friendliest in Central America (in my opinion). I don’t know if the expensive truly warrants the experience. That being said it is unlike anything you’ll find anywhere else. We stayed at the reef and the facilities were well kept and modern. Our pool was nearly private and that alone was amazing. I would encourage young adults/ couples to stay at the Cove simply for the option of accessing the adults only pool as well. It seemed to us there wouldn’t be any downsides of staying at the Cove. There was another review that really resounds with me. It was worth every penny of the visit but not necessarily worth a revisit. Though I would say I lean towards revisit. If you haven’t been and want to go, absolutely check it out.

Very impressed with Atlantis. Excellent Resort accommodations. Room layout in the reef is fantastic. Property is well thought out. There is much to enjoy including the pools, amazing beaches, shopping, dining, and out of this world water park. Even a movie theater! Would highly recommend to anyone considering Nassau. Seriously. Excellent very friendly staff. They were all amazing.
