Convenient location, nice pool but dated room
The hotel has an awesome location right in the historic center. Though I must say we did not hear much noise at night which was great. The pool area is nice with the pool water being very warm and inviting while we were there. We also loved that they had a few cats that make the hotel there home. There were also some cages of birds which we liked as well. The only really complaint is that the room has two double beds instead of one queen or king. The décor in the room is quite dated and the tv is ancient. The rooms really need a refresh. However, I will say that it was clean.

Beautiful and great location for local activities!
The hotel had a very wonderful ambience. I felt like we were in the amazon due to all the trees, birds, and friendly cats roaming around! Our first night there was a live band playing in the restaurant area. We enjoyed that a lot! The food and service was extraordinary! The location of the hotel was perfect. We didn't want to be where all the young tourists were. We got a good feel of Mexico! For some reason we never had hot water for showers and the rooms were very very echoey. We could hear people in rooms around us easily and in the hallway. But, I'd definitely stay at the Tropicana Inn again!

Authentic setting, old hotel style but up to date
This is such a "hidden" gem, though it's easy to get to from anywhere you want to go. Darling little authentic hotel in historic town of San Jose del Cabo. It's got a fabulous bar and restaurant, patio dining, great food and free breakfast that makes it the BEST value around. Quiet, beatiful garden and pool area. TOTALLY reccommend it!

nice hotel in the heart of San Jose tourist area
This hotel is situated perfectly in San Jose and in the heart of the tourist shopping area. There are numerous restaurants within easy walking, lots of shopping, and beautiful surroundings. The town square is half a block away and they have lots of shows there along with beautiful decorations. There are many art shops close by also. Beautiful location!

Excellent service. super clean and very convenient
Just a little maintenance would make this an excellent value for money. The people and service are great, food decent and super clean rooms good with good space, good sized fridges and a two person table. Great pressure in the showers and unending hot water. Outside is a lovely area to sit pool-side with birds, gardens and clean sparkly water. Great!
