A very nice, new hotel, a short walk from Tower Hill, and a few steps from Aldgate East Station. This area has transformed over recent years, and it's very accessible, with plenty of places to eat and drink on the doorstep.
The hotel room was nicely decorated, with a VERY comfortable matress. Plenty of refreshments in the room, and a good shower. The breakfast was great value for money: a self-service buffet with lots of hot/cold choices.
The special part of this hotel is the staff. At check in and check out, the reception staff were wonderfully charming. They made us feel relaxed, and all staff (including the restaurant staff) have been well-trained to smile and make the guests feel welcome. This can be quite unusual in London, and it was very nice to see that this important matter had not been overlooked. Congratulations to the management. My only regret is that I did not have my glasses on to read the name badges so that I could call out the special people. I got the impression that all staff would have been trained to a similar level though.
