The Wing is a nice place for your standard rook with no frills and thrills. Good for an inexpensive room that is clean and comfortable. That’s all you need, while visiting Tokyo. Area surrounding the hotel is close to shopping areas, Ueno park and zoo is close by and also Asakusa and Kappabashi.

My first time in Japan with the language barrier my stay was very comfortable and the customer service by the front staff was excellent. I appreciate that the hair products they provided were of good quality it has resolved mt hair frizziness.

Great choice for Ueno Area

Great location! Loved staying here for a week. I'm thankful I upgraded from the basic double bedroom to the deluxe version--the extra bit of room gave the two of us a lot of comfort. Nothing wrong with the hotel. I liked the room decor.

Perfect stay!

Loved this place! The room was bigger than expected, and I had a lovely view over Tokyo Skytree. So convenient with a small fridge in the room. Close to Ueno station, so easy to get around in Tokyo and to go to Narita!

Spacious and bigger than expected! Bags can easily be pushed under the bed to get more floor space.

The location of the hotel is perfect. Trains, subway and buses on the doorstep. Plenty of places to eat are within walking distance. The Ameyeko Shopping District on the doorstep is an added bonus. Hotel is very clean and comfortable with friendly attentive staff.

There are different metro lines, JR station walkable within 12 minutes from hotel. Cross streets there’s lots of restaurants, shops. seven11 everywhere. Rooms are not big as US, it’s small or like some other people says it’s tiny, of course we are in Tokyo. The rooms are very clean, the whole building is clean. Staffs are friendly. Free bathroom supplies free of charge. Great experience. I definitely come back.

Great place to stay to explore Tokyo

Excellent hotel. Ideal location less than 10min walk to Ueno station. Lovely staff on reception. Lots of free items available for use such as wash cloths, tooth brush, tooth paste, hair brush, curling iron and pyjamas as well as usual things like hair dryer, shampoo, soap etc. Arrived several hours before check in time but staff were happy to hold our bags so we could head out and explore. Yes, the room is small but this is Tokyo, it's to be expected. I was really happy with the room. It was clean and had everything I needed. There's room under the bed for the suitcase when you're not using it. Plus I'm here to see Tokyo so all I need is a comfortable bed and this place provided that. Would stay again.

It is just a standard hotel in Ueno, so many similar types of hotels around this one, such as APA, Hotel Guest 1 which I lived so many times before. But in terms of pricing, this hotel seems a little bit high. You have to put used towels or rubbish outside your room. Breakfast is also include, but NEVER expect it is good, it is just small bread and drinks available.

Disappointed

The bathroom fan blew air instead of sucking it out. The bathroom had a foul odor that never dissipated. Body wash and conditioner smelt stink so we could not use them, the shampoo was fine. Room cleaning was done on the 3rd day of our stay, but we were able to get fresh towels daily. Hotel location was very convenient and easy to get to from the train station. Most hotels provide 2 bottles of water daily, this one does not.

Size was OK for Tokyo, but small by US standards. Amenities in room were few, but if you ask at the lobby, they can give you what you need for free. Shower height is small for me (I'm 6 foot tall), the shower was only about 5 foot 6 inches tall. (note this is for 3rd floor, On 9th floor it is a bit taller, but I still need to crunch my neck down). View depends on the floor you are on, when I stayed on 9th floor, the view was great, but on the 3rd floor the window faces a cement wall a few feet away.
