Delighted upon booking, disappointed upon staying
I booked this hotel because of the positive comments, yet I was rather disappointed after having stayed for five nights. No change of bed / pillow sheets everyday. Dried blood stains found on the pillow sheets. Catering quality not even as good as the local restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. Massaman curry (one of the main courses of the complimentary dinner) was served with loads of oil. Reception staff were unfriendly (both the male manager on night shift and the female one on day shift). They tend to adopt a much more friendly and pleasant approach to dealing with Western guests. For the Asian guests, they simply greet you with a “Good morning” and that’s it, no initiative to talk to you further. Hotel is just too small, with no accessibility to the beach at all. To go to the beach, you need to be extremely cautious about walking along the very narrow path to bypass the nearby resorts since the area outside of Beluga Resort is just too rocky. If you want to go swimming and enjoy the sandy beaches, this place is a NO. For breakfast, serving too slow and not buffet style, can’t get more fruits due to unavailability. Besides, guests are strongly recommended to check the bills thoroughly before leaving. Further, the housekeeping would replenish the essential oil placed in the bathroom, however once the candle / oil is out and you request for a new one, they in turn asked me to buy from them cos they have to buy in Chaweng! This hotel is just overrated I think.
