Ultimately had a great experience but needed to change rooms after experiencing my original room for a couple hours. Was on the 9th floor, and apparently an event was happening in the meeting rooms on the 10th floor, and I repeatedly heard loud bangs, mechanical whirring, and this didn’t show any sign of stopping by 10pm. Earplugs wouldn’t block it out. I called the front desk and they kindly moved me to a room on the 5th floor, which was silent. The complementary happy hour and breakfast were great, and the view from the dining room is fantastic. I would definitely stay again, but make sure I was not placed on the ninth floor.

It's an older place. Needs some refreshing. The bathroom in our room was super small. We dropped an earring down the drain, and they were unable to send anyone up to help us. Told us it would be the next day! We ended up taking the sink apart ourselves and got the earring. Where were we supposed to wash our hands had we waited until the next day. The staff was all very friendly, just not very useful.

Overall, amenities were nice. The room was in good condition and cleaned daily. There was some unevenness of our experience. First, the staff failed to adequately deal with the tenants in the next room who were unbelievably loud after 1 am on BOTH nights we were there. On the first night, our call to the night manager went unanswered. On the 2nd night, we called the manager from my cell phone. He failed to call their room and called us at 130 am when he heard no noise after another person on the floor loudly banged on their door silencing them. He made the inane suggestion of us switching rooms at 130 am in the morning-in which I would have to wake up the other two people in my room and pack to move or another room. Not the most intelligent thought and not geared towards the customer. The hotel does put out a complimentary breakfast buffet for all room members. Restaurant staff do minimal as juice is poured and water is brought to the table. Breakfast is self service. It makes no sense to get a bill when it is part of the rate and to be asked for a gratuity. The waiter did not like the size of the gratuity and made it known to me and my table. Immediately, I told him that it was not the time or place to address any tip that was given and if he treated all guests like that. This was a surly staff member who at any other hotel would have been fired after making such a remark. We would look at other hotels in this area before coming back again.

Jeg bodde nylig på Marines Memorial Club & Hotel og hadde et fint og spesielt opphold. Dette er et eldre, tradisjonsrikt hotell med mye sjel – ikke moderne, men fullt av historikk. Går man gjennom gangene, føles det nesten som et lite museum, med veggene dekket av militære bilder og minner fra hotellets røtter som klubb for Marine Corps. Standardmessig er hotellet gammelt og noe slitt, og det har den typiske «amerikanske» teppefølelsen som også kan lukte litt gammelt. Rommene fungerer greit, men er enkle og ikke topp moderne. Likevel er opplevelsen god, fordi atmosfæren er så unik. Det beste med oppholdet var de ansatte. Resepsjonen, renholdet og personalet i restauranten var gjennomgående hyggelige, imøtekommende og profesjonelle. Frokostrestauranten med utsikt over byen er et fint pluss, og beliggenheten gjør det enkelt å utforske San Francisco til fots. Hvis du ønsker et hotell med historie, karakter og god service – og ikke forventer et nyoppusset designhotell – er Marines Memorial et godt valg. Jeg anbefaler det gjerne.

I LOVE The Marines Memorial Hotel! The staff is amazing, the rooms are clean and the breakfast was wonderful! Such a variety to choose from! Also, the cocktails and the dinner on the 12th Floor are not to be missed!

I love this hotel. It has soul and substance. It;s not the fanciest, but it has so much richness in terms of tradition and getting the most important things right-comfort, cleanliness and great facilities. Chesty's is a real sleeper, I was super surprised how good the food was and the happy hour is very special. I plan on returning often.
