Oh My . . . Pietermaai!

We stayed in a 2 bd Penthouse Ste. w/seaview. Though it was not the same layout as in the advertised images (something that should be ironed out), the suite was great in design, decor, view, and so on. Great air flow, which meant there wasn't really a need to use air conditioning. Room service was excellent. Indeed, all staff we encountered were wonderful. For a suite at that price point, however, kitchen utensils should really be improved. The few pans were falling apart at the handles, and the same was true of spatula. Worse, the teflon was peeling off of the pans, which is a toxicity problem! A member of the family has a very specialized diet for health reasons, so while we do eat out, we tend to need a place with a kitchen to make sure she has proper nourishment if unable to get her what she needs at restaurants. Cooking in the kitchen would have been easier with better quality kitchen items, and a blender would have been nice.

Fiquei no quarto luxo que fica no andar de cima virado pra rua. O banheiro eh aberto. Apenas uma meia parede e sem porta Horrível. Privacidade zero! As fotos do quarto que fiquei não são as do site. Não vale o valor da diária. Único ponto bom eh a localização.

Historic Hotel in Lively Pietermaai

A gorgeous old building with a mixture of rooms. Ours was room 21 which faced into a courtyard behind Ginger restaurant and backed onto the pool area where we had our own little table and chairs to chill. Large room but toilet and shower upstairs up a very steep staircase - this is an old building but if you're infirm then would be good to know in advance. Location is safe and fun - in the middle of the Pietermaai district which is very lively especially on Thursday nights! Would definitely return. Great restaurants and bars on your doorstep yet just a 10 minute walk to the town center.

Hotelbewertung – Unser Aufenthalt während der Flitterwochen Wir haben zwei Nächte in diesem Hotel verbracht, um unsere Flitterwochen zu genießen. Der Check-in verlief unkompliziert, und das Personal war freundlich. Leider gab es jedoch direkt zu Beginn eine Enttäuschung: Obwohl wir ein „Deluxe“ Zimmer gebucht und bezahlt hatten, erhielten wir zunächst nur ein „Classic“ Zimmer. Erst auf unsere direkte Nachfrage und aufgrund mangelnder Verfügbarkeit konnten wir am Nachmittag des zweiten Tages in die gebuchte Kategorie wechseln. Das neue Zimmer war von der Ausstattung her in Ordnung, musste jedoch auf unseren Wunsch hin nachgereinigt werden, da es nicht unseren Erwartungen an Sauberkeit entsprach. Positiv hervorzuheben ist, dass das Personal auf unsere Anliegen eingegangen ist und entsprechend gehandelt hat. Der Poolbereich war gepflegt und bot eine angenehme Atmosphäre. Insgesamt war unser Aufenthalt in Ordnung, allerdings hatten wir uns für unsere Flitterwochen etwas mehr erwartet. Aufgrund der Probleme mit der Zimmerkategorie und der Sauberkeit würden wir das Hotel nur bedingt weiterempfehlen.

I loved everything about the hotel … great comfortable room , lovely staff , beautifully decorated. Only one issue… I would have liked hot water in the bathroom sink. I’m not sure why it wasn’t there but I would have wanted that for many reasons. All else was great!

Be cautious if you are provided a room with a staircase to a loft - the stairs are steep and painted which could cause some one to fall - not meant for those over 35. Otherwise clean and comfortable.

I enjoyed my stay in a deluxe room. The room was clean and had everything I needed. It was walkable to restaurants and shopping. My only complaints are that parking can be tricky since it’s street parking only and if the street parking fills up, which it did, you have to park further away and pay for parking. My other complaint, though I don’t know that the hotel had any control over it was that there was a dog in the alley directly behind my room that barked constantly. Woke me up during the night and super early in the morning every night that I was there. Otherwise, I had a nice stay and the staff are very kind and helpful.
