I had much higher expectations for our stay here. The issues were mostly minor; but with so many, it cumulated to a very negative hotel experience, especially when paying over $450 for two nights.
Some of the issues we encountered included:
-bugs in the washroom (both in the sink and toilet)
-room was not ready at check in, so we were moved to a new room
-room was along the 401, so it was very noisey to sleep.
-filthy room (stains on carpeting, walls and furniture)
-ice machine out of service
-no wifi our first night
-one elevator out of service and the one that was in service made some alarming noises
-our keys were de-programmed after our first night, so we were unable to re-enter our room. When we went to the front desk, no questions were asked, which brings up some questions of hotel security if they just openly hand out keys to rooms
-no towels at the hotel pool
-hotel gym out of service
-room was advertised and charged as a "suite" when amenities included a microwave and a mini fridge.
Overall, we had a nice family trip, so we didn't let these things ruin our stay; but I will not be returning to holiday inn express hotels.
